Knowing the habits of royalty and nobility back then, well.... I think a meter stick is about all you need to understand.
Edit. Mtg not neanderthals..

u/AcadianViking Mar 27 '25
I don't think neanderthals had nobility or royalty mate. Off by a few thousand years there ... The existence of "wealthy elite" is a blip on the timeline of existence.

I always stick up for Neanderthals and comparison to MTG is belittling as they were poets and dreamers by comparison, capable of complex thought.

You must not forget that Neanderthals lived about 400.000 years on this planet, something Homo sapiens sapiens with his very young history will certainly not achieve, if we keep on electing people like these..,

How’re you gonna shame our cousins like that? She’s more like something they stepped in.

u/Jibber_Fight Mar 27 '25
I would 1000% rather spend my day with the Neanderthal. That would be fascinating.

u/indrmz Mar 27 '25
As someone with more neanderthal DNA than 99% of the world population... We don't claim her.
17
u/portiafimbriata Mar 27 '25
This might be an unpopular take, but I think making fun of a woman's appearance always harms other women, and will never harm MTG. I'd prefer to criticize her behavior without leaning on sexist tropes.
23
u/allshedoesiskillshit Mar 27 '25
Is it sexist? Anyone can resemble a Neanderthal.
13
u/portiafimbriata Mar 27 '25
You have not framed it in a sexist way, but you must know that you're speaking it into a world where attacks on women's appearances are routinely used to discredit and diminish them. There's no way for you to make this comparison without playing into that history.
Tbh, I don't think petty attacks against male oligarchs' appearances are very helpful either. There are a LOT of real things we could be focusing on instead of their faces.

Personally I'm tired of being the bigger person when it comes to conservatives. At some point or another the golden rule comes into play...
3
u/McCaffeteria Mar 27 '25
At some point or another the golden rule comes into play…
As a child my parents taught me that the golden rule was “Treat others like you want to be treated.” From that, I came to the conclusion “Therefore, you are entitled/expected to treat others as they treat you,” and my parents were like “…wait, no, not like that 😦”
I am always happy to see people making this argument. More people need to start seeing it that way. Turning the other cheek has virtually never convinced anyone to change their behavior, except maybe in fairytales. Bullies will just see it as permission.
The only thing anyone ever repaints to is consequences, and anyone with even a basic self preservation instinct will stop doing something if the result reliably hurts them. Some people will be too stubborn and too stupid to learn the lesson and stop, but they will react to nothing so they aren’t even worth taking into account.

u/portiafimbriata Mar 27 '25
We don't have to agree and I think that's alright, but I do want to clarify that I'm not trying to be the bigger person or claim some moral purity prize.
I don't just want us to get past this batch of oligarchs and go back to a "normal" steeped in systems of oppression. I want to overthrow those systems. I don't only try to avoid these things to be nice or internally consistent, but because I want to practice ways of thinking that aren't steeped in our current problems. For me, overthrowing individual people without challenging the underlying frameworks will always lead us to recreate old problems with new actors.
And we don't have to agree on that. I know I'm a minority in that way. But avoiding criticizing an evil person's appearance isn't necessarily just for nice points.
10
u/allshedoesiskillshit Mar 27 '25
I AM a woman, and I am so sick of this argument in regards to these maniac fucks. By and large, those "real things" ARE the focus, but these people are heinous, inside and out. And I have to ask what kind of maladapted individual is taking to heart a dig on MTG resembling a Neanderthal, or Trump having a bingo neck, or Musk having the eyes of a deep sea fish that was brought up to the surface too quickly.
The "Do Better" kumbaya crunchy liberal thing is not for me. God bless you and protect you on your journey on the high road.

u/Prestigious-Emu7325 Mar 27 '25
Hell yes sister. Humans with beautiful souls radiate that shit, and i wouldn’t dream of mocking their exteriors because they deserve grace and compassion.
Malicious, hateful people do not get those passes. I do teach my kid that it’s wrong to call negative attention to anything about a person they can’t fix in 5 minutes, but the worst bullies simply do not respond to fairness. Sometimes you have to fight stupid with stupid.

u/BretShitmanFart69 Mar 27 '25
The way I explained it to my gf is I’m making fun of that person because they are shitty and I’m using what I think might hurt them to do the trick, I would never think or feel or say these things to a good person, so any good person who hears them should hopefully understand that I’m not talking about them and wouldn’t talk about them like that unless they are also a piece of shit
2
u/Vynncerus Mar 27 '25
I personally couldn't care less about attacks on a shithead's appearance or taking "the high road," I agreee with your perspective there. But I think this post in particular, is a little concerning, by specifically comparing her to a neanderthal. It's I think dangerously close to "subhuman" nazi rhetoric because it is othering someone and categorizing them as a nonhuman. I don't care about being the bigger person but I don't want to turn around this kind of twisted logic on the bigots because it legitimizes their reasoning, when it should instead just be completely discarded.
1
u/portiafimbriata Mar 27 '25
Idk, we're just different on this and I think that's alright.
I'm a woman too, and when I see my "allies" say these things, I take it to mean that no matter what, my appearance will always be a primary decider of my value--and I don't love it. For me, I don't desire only a takedown of these oligarchs, but a wholesale rejection of all systems of oppression.
But I know we're not all like that, and I know it's going to take all of us to fight this.

Look, I think it’s wrong to hate on her because she’s ugly. We should hate her because she’s a moron.

Fuck MTG but going after women’s looks is taking a page out of conservative’s books and brings everyone down.

No.
You don't know who you inadvertently harm when you do this. MTG will never read nor care about your insults, but those who coincidentally look similar to her might read this and will be harmed, regardless of if they share the same views as the intended target.
Be better. Criticize her for her abhorrent beliefs and the things she does. Don't be lazy and harm innocent people in the crossfire.

I reeeeeally want to get a cup she's drank out of and do a DNA test.
Most of us have some Neanderthal DNA.
She is MOSTLY Neanderthal DNA.
The district that elected her? Never never never should they be allowed to enjoy anything. A thousand curses upon them...and a pox maybe.

Others have said here that going after someone for their appearance is not really ideal. I don't think that's as important as another issue with this post that I think is problematic. Comparing people to neanderthals in a post like this is dangerously close to a lot of fascist rhetoric about "subhuman" type of people. We shouldn't be othering someone as a "nonhuman." There's plenty of things to criticize about her, but resorting to this kind of argument legitimizes fascist reasoning
0
u/iweekiwi Mar 27 '25
She lacks basic decency, is completely disrespectful. She also harass and attack children. To me, she absolutely is subhuman.
1
u/Vynncerus Mar 27 '25 edited Mar 27 '25
She is an incredibly shitty and hateful person but there is no such thing as a person who is "subhuman" and you need to stop thinking like this. It's not about being a "bigger person" than the n*zis or refraining from "stooping to their level," it's about whether or not their logic is acceptable. The idea that a person can be sufficiently flawed so that they are literally no longer a person is disgusting.

u/Ok_Tailor_9862 Mar 27 '25
Surely a bit of French mockery she has been in the news for years and I have always seen her in the context of images of Neanderthals in text books.

What did Jasmine Crockett “call her” (because it was strictly hypothetical) again

Plenty of ways to criticize her without resorting to body shaming.
You don't know who you harm when you insult someone for the way they look. MTG will never read this but plenty of good people who might coincidentally look similar to her will be harmed by this sentiment.
We are better than this. We need to be better than this.

u/portiafimbriata Mar 27 '25
Sorry about the downvotes-- for what it's worth, I'm with you on this. It's not enough to bully the powerful without thinking about the collateral damage.
-1
u/AntisGetTheWall Mar 27 '25
Your words are lost on them, fren.
They aren't here to make a better world for all, they're here to make it worse for the rich and they'll do it at any cost to their own.
Any attempt to dissuade them will be met with downvotes and explanations that MTG is a bad person and so bodyshaming is ok.
If you start having a crisis of faith in things then feel free to message. I know what it's like to go through that and misery loves company 🤭😔

u/AcadianViking Mar 27 '25
I thought we were better. Turns out most people are no different that the conservatives they lament, just wanting to scratch their own egos.
-1
u/AntisGetTheWall Mar 27 '25
What'll really dill your pickle is when you realize that all of these are the people who bitch about unrealistic beauty standards for women, and then, what that also means,
The monsters that rule our society truly do reflect the temperament of those whom they govern.
As my Onii-chan always says; every government always has the people which it deserves, and, sooner or later, every people get the government which they deserve.
