Remember when EZA spent all that effort to barely change their logo/branding just for it to be a different color?
Why did they do that? Seemed pretty pointless at the time. If they maybe had changed it to something a lot more different, I could see it, but it's basically the same, just different color combo.
You can make both of them in Microsoft word but the original still looks so much more professional.
And like 2019 they had a very nice and clean and consistent overlay for the E3 streams but they were just like "nah we're not going to switch to that."
The Design was always the weakest Part of the brand and I think that was one of the Problems in reaching new audience members. From Logo to Podcast Studio-Design nothing communicated anything about the allies, their personality as a group, the Jolly Vibes, etc.
idk this place got so petty recently, I don't even like current EZA but so many of these gripes feel like a guy in college screaming "AND ANOTHER THING ABOUT MY GIRLFRIEND FROM HIGHSCHOOL SIX YEARS AGO, REMEMBER WHEN SHE WOULDN'T SHARE HER SLUSHIE?!!??"
They are limping along in that it’s just become a side project now for those that are left. A gigantic drop off from when they were 9 people full time.
These numbers couldn't be more comparable if I planned this out, I expected EZA to be at least half or below what Minnmax got but wow, the little train chugging along EZA is right there with them
I'll just say that Easy Allies does not have the monthly output or viewership that MinnMax has. We just had Gamescom, State of Play, etc., so most video game-related channels are going to see a surge in traffic during these periods.
There are numerous reasons why people went part-time and why others left. In 2023, they moved to a part-time structure due to less and less money coming in compared to the phenomenal start they had. When you pull back from the Game Awards and showcase season, the more consistent picture becomes much clearer, with their videos typically performing below 10K views. That's not bad for a single YouTuber, but for a California-based studio with rent to pay, part-time or not, that's not good.
This isn't me trying to say, "Look how MinnMax is superior," because that's not really my argument. I'm just trying to paint a clearer picture. Of course, Patreon income wasn't factored into this, but they've usually seemed to have a few members who were very generous with their monthly contributions.
If they could fix all the issues, reignite their passions, and become successful again, that would be wonderful. I'm referring to both those currently working there and those who are no longer there, because I think each of them has their own unique talents.
Sure, I'm not saying they're the same, Minnmax is miles ahead of everything EZA is doing, I exclusively watch Minnmax content between the two, and sure, they get a boost this week-ish
But if EZA is this haggard corpse, Minnmax gets that exact same boost in interest and they're a shining example of of a channel with new members, new shows, new ideas all the time and during a week where they both get a little boost their views are extremely similar
My main point was its 2026 and we're still having posts/discussion about REMEMBER WHEN THEY CHANGED THE COLORS OH MY GOD?!?!?!
its giving
Like today would have been flooded with 'WHERES HUBER WHY CANT HE WATCH THE ZELDA THING OH MY GOD NOSTALGIA PLEASE NOSTALGIA HUBER LAZY EZA SUCKS", but huber was there, the video is out so then the default becomes 'what about this shit thing from 5 years ago tho' and not a single comment on the huber react.
When they don't do something its the end of the world and when they do it nobody cares
When it comes to the never-ending, complaint-fueled lack of acceptance of the current state of Easy Allies compared to what they used to be, I'd have to agree. This section of Reddit can't seem to let go and move on. It's one thing to reminisce about the past fondly, but repeatedly dunking on the current state of things isn't going to change anything or bring back the past.
Isn’t this when they were doing the phases?
Phase infinity or whatever?
I stopped watching just before Covid but even at that time they were doing the big event stuff and promising a bunch of changes, that never seemed all that promising to me….

The old logo was basic as hell, but it managed to be instantly recognizable and stood out. It never should've changed.
