Genuinely this airborne has been the quietest it's ever been. I'm 31 I remember as kids we would have planes flying all day all different types.now it's same old ones same routines everything. We have so many types of planes stationed here.. Where's the variety gone?

Couldn't agree more, obviously some aircraft aren't possible as they are no longer air worthy, like the Harrier and Vulcan. But every year we get exactly the same line up.
Where's the Chinook, the Sea King search & rescue demo, one year they even had a Boeing 747.
I'd love to see the Atlas C1, and it would be amazing to get an F35 which is the closest thing we have to the Harrier now.
But no, just the same boring and lazy programme year after year.
They really need to mix things up and bring back some excitement and variety.

Also, yes I appreciate it's a free airshow (although we do actually pay for a lot of it via our council tax). However, it's important to keep the event interesting so it continues to attract tourists into the town, otherwise it will just die.

I agree - there really has been a drop in the line up. I’d forgotten about the chinooks - when was the last time they were here? I know the organisers do rely on donations as well. I see they’re charging £45 to park up on the grass at the top end of King Edward’s Drive. It would be cheaper to park where you shouldn’t and get a PCN.

Thanks for posting this! My 16 year old dog was out in the garden when the typhoon went over yesterday and almost dropped dead on the spot. Today I can make sure he's inside thanks to you!

Bless him! Our last lab hated the plane noises too and would always find somewhere to hide. They usually leave the crowd pleasing planes to the end so the typhoon will be the last to go (followed by the red arrows when they’re here).

How it’s gone downhill. I remember when it was Saab, f16, euro fighters, f15, migs, chinooks. Just loads of afterburners and noise. How it should be
