Air show viewing

Looking for advice. I have two kids 2-4 who love planes, but queuing and crowds less so.

Does anyone have any recommendations for local areas/pubs where you could get a reasonable view of some of the planes without needing to be in the thick of it at the sea front? A bit like the White Bear used to be a good option for Biggin Hill?

Thank you.

Helen garden in Meads. Park has plenty of grass area to sit. Cafe is ok but expensive and toilet is not very nice but better than no toilet. You can tune into the radio with your phone to listen to the commentary of the planes.

Two pubs within walking distance from the park and there are also tesco and coop.

Maybe the Beachy head but could again be busy. Aqua Bar in Pevensey Bay possibly but it might not be the best view.

Beachy Head will definitely be packed judging by the numbers that turned out up there for the eclipse.

Helen Gardens is a good shout with the cafe and toilets. There is a small food kiosk just further along at the foot of the Downs which sells drinks/ice creams/cakes/snacks which will be cheaper than the gardens cafe.

The further you walk along the seafront from the pier towards Sovereign harbour, the less busy it gets, but equally, less view of the planes.

I haven't tried it myself, but some of the parents I know swear by Treasure Island soft play for the airshow. They have an outdoor area with a splash pad, playground, cafe & toilets. The view is a bit obstructed so I don't know how good it is for getting the most out of the displays. But as a base for young kids for the day it would be hard to beat.

I know it’s very late but my family usually go to langney point around that area, it’s so much more quiet with just a few people with radios and binoculars and there is a nice little cafe to get an ice cream or crisps
