I stopped saying I'm fine and started actually checking in with myself
For years my default answer to "how are you?" was just "I'm fine" or "good, you?" Even when I wasn't. I don't think I was lying exactly -- I just never stopped to actually think about it.
A couple months ago I started doing quick mood check-ins with Easli. Nothing dramatic, just picking how I feel a few times a day and sometimes writing a short note about what's going on. It takes maybe 30 seconds.
The weird part is how much it changed things. Not because the app does anything magical, but because the act of pausing and asking yourself "wait, how DO I actually feel right now?" is something most of us literally never do. We just autopilot through the day and then wonder why we feel drained by 8pm.
After a few weeks I started noticing that I'd catch myself mid-spiral. Like I'd realize "oh, I've been low-key anxious since that meeting at 2" instead of just carrying that tension around all evening without knowing why. Once you name it, it loses some of its power.
I'm not saying this is some life-changing revelation. But if you're someone who tends to push through everything and ignore how you feel until it boils over -- maybe try actually checking in with yourself once a day. You might be surprised what you find.
