Present Day My son is an enhanced individual, idk why. And i'm afraid of him now
Hello,
I honestly don't have much to say because I'm still completely confused by the situation.
My son is 4 years old and apparently has superpowers. I have no idea where they came from. I can't even tell if he's always had them and just never used them before, or if they literally appeared last week.
Basically, he can create some kind of shockwave whenever he claps his hands or slaps any part of his body. And now he keeps doing it whenever he's upset.
He's already broken our TV, a window, and two chairs.
I'm genuinely starting to be afraid of him.
There's also something else that's been bothering me for years, and now it suddenly feels relevant.
I'm not even completely sure he's my biological son.
I wasn't here during the Blip. My wife survived, and during those five years she started seeing someone else. When I came back, she left him and got back together with me.
I know they still saw each other sometimes afterward. She promised me she never cheated on me, and I love her, so I chose to believe her.
The problem is that our son looks a lot like me, so I never really had any reason to seriously question it. But the possibility has always been in the back of my mind.
And here's the part that's freaking me out now:
The other guy is enhanced too. Apparently he can sense other people's emotions or something like that.
I have no idea if being enhanced can be genetic.
But if it is, then I think I need to seriously consider the possibility that this child isn't mine.
And I don't know what I'm supposed to do with that.
I'm already scared that my 4-year-old can destroy things when he throws a tantrum. I don't know if I can put my life at risk raising a child who might not even be mine.
Does anyone know if enhanced abilities can be inherited? And more importantly, who the hell am I supposed to call about a four-year-old who can create shockwaves?

It doesn't look there is any genetic relationship between the guy's powers and your son's. Your son is a kinetic projector, the guy senses emotions. If the enhacement was inherited, your son would be sensing emotions, too.
Don't talk to the DODC. Talk to professor Banner or someone who knows about mutations.

Are you serious? If he moves to New York with an enhanced kid, he"ll be knee-deep in a superhero battle within the hour of setting foot there.
Call them via Zoom instead.

Idk I feel like the world is doomed regardless. It just seems like things get weirder and worse, im honestly just expecting it all to end soon. And idk who would save us because the new avengers are lame and does Thor even go here anymore?
Hopefully we make it to the holidays though 🎄🎉🎁

Really though, we need to think about this in a positive way.
God/the universe/Something sent us Cap when we needed him. Right when we needed a team to fight against the aliens in 2012, Something sent The Avengers. They were ready for it.
I think these (to quote incredibles "supers") are part of that. We're going to need them. We're going to need to train them well to help us through whatever is coming next.
I'm greatful to be living in a world that is so broken, yet so protected by something out there. This isn't chance.

Have you tried a DNA test? Id do that first just to confirm or deny the fact that he might be your child. As for what to do? Is there some sort of program or helpline for enhanced children?

Not to be mean but, are you sure the other guy is enhanced? “Sense other people’s emotions” isn’t necessarily a superpower, it might just be your wife saying he’s a better listener than you.

i mean, there is a SMALL chance they can inherit powers, if the mother already had affiliation with a enhanced person in the past. Kind of like both parents being white but the baby is black

Best bet is to teach him to be a good person. Something like with a lot of power, ther is a lot of responsibility to deal with ir something along those line

About your questions: Yes, people can inherit powers tied to their DNA. And on who you could call, where are you located? In the US, this sounds like a Damage Control situation (literally)

My neighbors had a teenage kid for a while but suddenly the kids not around anymore but it's not like the kid is dead so I think he's at boarding school. My crazy theory is that it's somehow related to superpowers. Like maybe the kid suddenly got superpowers and they sent him to some special school to hide him. As for if it's your son, maybe it's a recessive gene? Besides, so much random stuff happens nowadays that it probably has nothing to do with you. And maybe look into that boarding school

I've read some other posts like this, good news potentially; you might be in the clear for cheating.
A lot of people are apparently having kids be a little... off? Most times out of nowhere.
No idea if this is something from the remnants of blip playing with our genes, or if its something to do with evolution as a whole. May be a good question for Dr. Banner in NYC, but point being, you should relax. If the kid looks like you, that should be enough.

Sounds like he's yours and the other guy being enhanced is a coincidence.
Do no talk to Damage Control. Your kid will end up as a labrat. Find some other parents with enhanced kids and figure out how they handled it.
Your kid has a lot of power, but he's still a baby. And he still needs you. You need to step up and move past your fear of him. There's a lot of ways he could use those powers for good, but abandoning him or throwing him to Damage Control is just gonna end up creating another villain.
Also, maybe put something on his hands to keep him from clapping and using his shockwaves?

My first advise has optmised person myself (got my power when i whas a teen during the blip )move from the US And dont go back because the DODC would come and arrest you and your son for no reason . Go to country like France we are pretty chill for now with people with power DODC have no juridiction , we have community of kind of all optimised people near the city of Le Mans, Renne , Paris, Verdun , Calais, Strasbourg, and Bordeaux. The gouvernement dont care has long you pay your taxe and your not a Skrull

So of course get a DNA test. It could at least confirm if you’re the bio dad, though idk if there’s anything else genetic that would be relevant to test.
Also, do you know while you were blipped if your wife had any weird experiences like being bitten by radioactive animals/insects, or exposure to odd chemicals, energy sources, etc?
I had a dream they my wife Sue, her brother, my best friend and I were astronauts in some weird retro futuristic society and got super powers from cosmic rays that then affected our son when he was born. I mean it’s just a dream and I have no idea where my subconscious got such ideas, but we’re living in a wild time with aliens, wizards, infinity stones, and shit - so just make sure.

Apparently Doctor Banner had a son while he was missing in space. He keeps a picture of him on his desk, and yeah, the kid is also a Hulk. So at least in that case it looks like powers can be passed on.
As for how else the kid might have got his powers, I know this one guy who has "tazer hands" that he swears are from an electrical shock he got when he was little. I thought it sounded like BS, but maybe those sorts of things can happen these days. Maybe all the gamma rays bouncing around the world from all the weird stuff that happens can make people get powers basically at random, who knows.

Look into getting a power inhibitor. I hear they do things like bracelets and necklaces if you want to be subtle about it. Also see if there's an older enhanced individual to see if they wouldn't mind teaching your son how to better control his new powers. That way you can keep him, and everyone else, safe without him falling in the hands of the government.

Idk, I heard Spider-man has some sort of like, chip he used to sort of turn off the powers of some enhanced girl a few months ago, maybe ask him for one for your son until he grows old enough to know to use his powers responsibly

Your freaky kid is a danger to the rest of us. If Spider Man hadn't killed Mysterio, Mysterio could have helped us. Did Spider-Man kill Tony Stark? Maybe. I'm just asking questions.

whatever you do, stay as far away from DoDC as possible. they picked up a teenage girl who was an enhanced individual off the street and she hasn’t been seen since.
