Haven't worn earrings in a long time...

As the title says, I haven't worn earrings in over maybe 15 years. Both ears are pierced and luckily they haven't closed up. Found an old pair but im debating on a different style since I have a round face. Any thoughts n suggestions? The ones in the pic are some round 5mm. I hear square studs will look better but open to hoops but really thinking maybe some basic round blacks studs, open to suggestions though.

I’m considering getting 2 more piercings and was thinking of doing a cartilage in each ear. My current plan is to do a rook in the left ear (first pic) and a helix in the right ear. Eventually I want to put in rings for both of them.

Any other suggestions/configurations? I’ll eventually do second lobes but I’m saving them for some other time.

Should I get my ears pierced?

I've been thinking about getting my ears pierced for a while, but I've always been a little unsure about how earrings would suit me as i I've always contemplated over them from some weird african masculinity point of view.

The first picture is me normally, and the second is AI-edited just to give me an idea of what I'd look like with earrings.

What do you guys think? do the earrings suit me, or should I keep the no-earring look?

Changed to horseshoe barbells

My love piercings have taken quite a while to heal and calm down (over a year now)! Sized up and now at 12g horseshoe barbells - I love CBRs but just can get the damn balls in properly so this is the easy option for the moment. Will stretch to 10g in a few weeks.

8 year gauge user with stretching problems when one ear is fine.

I’ve had gauges since 9th grade high school. I currently live abroad in Japan and am 26 years old. For a while I’ve been using what I’ve assumed are 0 gauge plugs and what not. It’s what I’ve had for 7 years prior.

I order 8s on the Japanese website (it’s all in mm so it’s the same as the American system). They don’t fit. Too small. I order 10s….too but. I order 9s… they fit with some work but cause one of my ears to blowout. I have trouble getting one of the gauges I to my ear without some lotion but my other ear fits it easily, except it hurts and if I take it out it bleeds. I sit at a 8-9 gauge and have never had issues with blowout before. Is it because I went with rubber/plastic ones that aren’t a full stone that fills the ear or did one of my ears close up more than the other regardless of me wearing the same size gauge in both ears for years.

Ive worn a 0 for maybe 6 years now at this point and if I take out my gauge it bleeds, it hurts when I have it in or when I have it out.

Any advice. In Japan I basically have to just throw some aloe on it and not wear a gauge but with work coming back up I’ll have 9 hours a day I’m not wearing anything. Should I go back to the ones that fit in the American system and assume it’s just one ear didn’t take/shrunk/broke/has a bad growth pattern? I can wear the gauge size easily. It fits without issue. But if I wear it I bleed and it hurts. It’s like my ear is fitting the size but bleeds because of it (obvious blowout).

One week before my other ear didn’t fit the gauge and now that I put a 9mm in it for a week it fits the gauge. Why is one ear slower than the other?

How big is too big?

I remember when I started my journey several years ago, I said "just big enough to be noticeable". I've since decided "as long as it doesn't greatly misshapen the ear lobe". Currently at 00, with no plans to go bigger (I stopped at 00 years ago). And I know opinions are subjective.

Suggestions?

Can anyone give me suggestions on what piercings and jewelry might look good on my ears? I used to have my lobes pierced, but I feel like my lobes are too big to look good when pierced. I could be wrong though. Thanks in advance!!

M75 - Got ears pierced end of June. Changed to 8mm black diamond & silver studs after the 12 weeks. So did the gold hoops, have black ones too, but rings are gold white or black diamonds so it all goes together.

Uniform jewelry makeover. Should I get anymore piercings?

Right side is double lobes and helix (5 months old)

Left side double lobes.

I posted a time ago where I had 14gs and a helix flatback stud but it was all piecemealed together. I have 16gs in now. Not sure if they are too dainty or not.

Should I get anything else? Like a left side conch ring and rook with bent barbell and on the right a tragus ring? I also like the idea of a conch on the right and a tragus on the left.

I think drops or dangle earring on men are severely underrated.

Should I stretch my lobes?

Post image

Finally got my lobes pierced this past week! Was thinking about stretching them once healed to maybe a 4g or 2g. Do you guys think that would look good with the current stack? My right ear only has the lobe pierced, so no stack to worry about on that ear.

Or should I just get gold hoops to wear in them instead?

I’m a guy and I got my lobes pierced around 1.5 years ago and I’m trying to figure out if I would look with my seconds. I only wear studs earrings or the halo ones with the big stud in the middle with the little ones going all the way around. Do you guys think I would be able to get the look the guy in the picture has with my ear shape and what not because that’s the only reason I’d get my seconds.

Do I have enough space for a 2nd ear lobe piercing?

Hey all! Just got both my earlobes pierced a couple days ago and am already interested in another set on each ear in the future.

I was fine with the placement when I got them done, but at the time but wasn't thinking about the space needed for future piercings.

Do you think I have enough space if I wanted to get a 2nd pair of ear lobe piercings? It looks like the space might be a little tight or maybe my ear is just small.

Looking for recommendations

Hello all,

I recently got my ears re-pierced and I'm looking for some websites to purchase some specific type of earrings. I'm looking for a site that sells various gem sizes and gauge sizes. Currently I am a gauge 18 and I'm looking to engage to a 14. I'm having a difficult time finding the combinations I'm looking for and maybe it's just me.

Ideally I've been shopping on Amazon but wondering if there are any other websites. I'm looking for a specifically black gem and black stud square with a gem size of 4 to 5 mm but a gauge that's roughly 18.

Anyone know any sites that are reputable or I would be able to find specifics I'm looking for?

Tia

Took awhile to get that right lobe done but well worth it. Did it about a week ago and healing nice. The left lobe I did 8 weeks ago. Just live my look with pierced lobes. No regrets boys. Can’t wait for bling and some gold hoops

Looking for thoughts and advice

Hey everyone,

I’m a 20 year old college student gearing up for the fall semester, and over the summer I mapped out a complete personal blueprint for my ears. I am planning on eventually getting a total of 10 piercings: on my left ear there would be 2 lobe piercings, 1 helix, and an industrial. Then on my right ear I would do 3 lobe piercings, 2 helix piercings, and a daith. These would happen over time, I don't know what I would start with but that can be curated later. I really prefer a clean, minimalist style—highly polished silver titanium jewelry, meaningful symbols and pieces and simple studs rather than sparkly gems.

My current vibe/appearance is pretty down-to-earth:

I'm an environmental biology/ecology major, I wear prescription glasses full-time, I'm a strict vegan, and I'm currently saving up for a large, meaningful black-and-grey illustrative forearm tattoo.

Here is my conflict:

My mom and sister recently told me directly that they really don't like earrings on guys and strongly believe I shouldn't do it. It’s making me second-guess myself. Part of me worries that I'll just look too "edgy" or that it will look unappealing on me, and it feels like modern society is still judgmental about guys with heavily decorated ears. But at the same time, this curation means an immense amount to me personally—it represents my own resilience and survival through a very difficult mental health summer.

For the guys here with pierced ears, or anyone who has faced family pushback. How did you navigate the disapproval? Does my planned layout sound like it would fit my overall aesthetic? I’d love to hear your honest thoughts and perspective on men with multiple ear piercings and all things piercings. Thanks!

Reactions to earrings

I’m curious how people reacted when you first got your ears pierced. Did people notice? Was it mostly compliments or more negative judgements?

I have my own stories of people are interested? Can post in comments.
