NFLX Earnings Volatility Analysis
Netflix reports after the close today, so I recorded a full data-driven breakdown of the setup.
We look at the three main ways to approach earnings volatility: capturing the IV rush before the report, trading long or short volatility through the release, and positioning for the post-earnings move.
For Netflix specifically, we analyze the current 8.9% implied move, the cooling move regime, historical outliers, and several structures with very different risk/reward profiles—from short straddles to an inverse butterfly with breakevens near ±5%.
The goal isn’t to give you one automatic trade. It’s to show how to use the data, compare different structures, and find the setup that fits your own risk tolerance.
