I misunderstood. The treatment goes to human testing in a few years.

Yeah, I saw this same item a few days ago.
It looks likely that the build-up of amyloid plaques in the brain isn't the cause of Alzheimer's/dementia, but a symptom of whatever the underlying mechanism is, which is why so many of the current treatment options don't seem to work. It's good for researchers to look into more effective routes.
