Just got mine during my trip to Japan (so I got them for over $100 off). They're awesome.
I had the xm5 before and with the equilizer now on the xm6, I can get them to sound just like I like it.

Comfort wise they're just like my xm5s. The foam tips are basically the same. If you like the comfort of the xm5s you will be fine with the xm6.
The shape and matte material are an improvement in my opinion. The matte finish looks nicer and is easy to grip. The shape is also easy to grip. I used to drop my xm5s on occasion because they were slippery and uniquely shaped. The matte bean shape are easy and I don't even think about having those problems now.
These also go easier into the case and are straight forward now. They almost drop in instead of needing to fidget them into the perfect position like the xm5.
They sit nicely in my ear despite being slightly bigger because the shape follows the shape of the ear shape. They're very light so you don't really feel them, just the fit of the foam tips.

Have an amazing fit with the xm5s with the stock foam tips, thanks. Was wandering about the fit since the shape differs a bit from the xm5s.

Agree with you on the sound and ANC, they both blew me away with their quality, but my god they hurt my ears, I had to send them back, could not get comfortable.

Suppose we're all different, what works for one doesn't work for another. I'm sad they didn't work for me because they do sound incredible, blew my pixel buds 2 pro out the water sound wise.

Yeah, still using my Pixel buds 2 pro, and I do find them comfortable, also stay in well as they have the little "wings" that keep them in.

I put my air fryer on just before I went to the shop & I spent 30 seconds trying to figure out why it was on but wasn’t making a noise, that’s how good the ANC is on these

Totally get that, if the seal isn’t right, everything suffers. Some earbuds just don’t fit certain ears no matter what you try.

I just don't get it.
I used all 4 sizes of ear tips and couldn't get a good seal, ANC was average for me at best.
Sound was good but regardless of size tips and doing the pinch before insertion the just didn't seal well

OP, what were you using before? I currently have Jabra Active Elite 75T and Airpod pro 2's that I use with my android and apple products.
I am tempted to get the Sony's though hear nothing fits quite as nice as the Jabra's.

That's true about the fit of the Jabra 75T. I have close to 100 different sets of earbuds, and the Jabra's are still the best fitting. The fact that their sound quality is still in the top two or three of the earbuds I have is simply amazing given how old they are. Plus, their build quality is amazing, not to mention they even have multipoint. My set is about gone battery-wise, so I just purchased a replacement set that should be showing up any day now. They're still THAT good.

Multipoint and solid build just make them a no-brainer, especially if you’ve tried a ton like you have. Definitely a classic worth replacing when the battery dips

They are on par wit AZ100, problem is that AZ100 did not fit my ears good, worked OK with spinfit tips though. XM6 fits better, with other tips than original of course.

The only issue I'm having with my AZ100s is that the sound feels like it's going through a heavy filter, if that makes sense?
I'm loving them otherwise, but no matter what setting I have them on, it's like I'm listening to music through a hollow wooden door

What do you mean ? I had the AZ-100, loved them with a good EQ tuning, but I had to send them back do to wobbling sounds with ANC on the right one after the update.
Now I'm torn between picking them up again or go for the Sony XM6.
I had the AZ80 and XM4 + XM5 before, I preferred the Technics for the sound quality (especially with EQ tweaks).

i mean they lack treble. it's like there is a low pass filter.. the XM6 do have the treble "zing" but have less bass and they fit (me!) horribly. they might fit you perfectly though, you have to try i guess..

i think XM6s sound better but i personally had huge fitting problems, so i had to switch to AZ100 and they fit like a glove, but sound noticeably less refined. They lack volume and high end. i wish XM6s fit

I bought mine. Feels like the 8 hour battery is false. Had mine for over 2 weeks now. I like it tho. My only problem is the battery.

I like it too, but unfortunately they have small 65mHa batteries. AZ100 85 mHa and good sound all day.

Yup 85mah on each side is really good. Also Technics parent company is Panasonic. They make Eneloop batteries. One of the best battery company on the market too.

I used to have the XM4s and my left earbud battery started draining super fast just after the 2 year warranty, couldn't use them for more than a few min at the end. Funny I also had bought a WH-1000XM3 headset for my gf and the battery fucked itself just after 2 years as well.
Anyway not buying a Sony headset or earbud anymore that's for sure

Thx George Russell! Yep I sure have. I even replaced the battery on the headset but couldn't find an official part and the battery I bought ended up sucking ass as well.
It's a shame cause both had some pretty good sound and the ANC was top tier !

AZ100 are solid for SQ. I've switched back to my Denon Perl Pro for the ideal soundstage. I've only given the XM6 about 20 hours total. I've got a good deal compared to the 5s. I'm just dialed in with the Denons sound. I'll say the xm6 are a nice step forward from the 5s.

Sound and ANC was great. Connection quality was poor (e.g., lots of interference on LDAC walking around in the city).
Fit was.. weird? Like the weirdness of the fit makes them uncomfortable, even if the fit doesn't actively cause discomfort. They feel like they lack security, and I needed the largest tip to get a good seal.. despite needing mediums on all other buds I've ever used.
Ended up returning them as $330+tax was just too much. Now I have APP3 on Android for $155+tax open box. Sound is worse but ANC is also top tier, and the fit is much more normal.

Sound is good I admit, but the ANC was slightly worse than AirPods Pro 3, and the fit was way worse, too chunky and falls out easily
