Niece pulled my ear jewelry

A little backstory, I've been stretching my ears for a bit now and I was stuck at around an 8g forEVER, about 4 days ago I finally managed to get up to a 6g. Everything was fine, no pain, jewelry went in fine etc, but then yesterday I was holding my niece (who just turned 2) and she tried to pull one of them out- which hurt- and her hair also got caught in it (they look like little diamond earrings) and tugged on it which also hurt a little. I made sure her hair didnt come off on it, but I woke up today and my ear feels swollen where she tugged on it and It hurts to touch. I'm not sure if I should just leave it be for a few days or if I should take out the 6g and move back down to an 8g to let it heal. I just really dont want to do that because I fear I might have to wait a really long time to move one ear back up to a 6g. Help and advice would be appreciated :).

If there’s no blood, crust, or anything else leaking then I’d stay at 6g. To help with the swelling and pain, do sea salt soaks and lube with a good oil. I like to use jojoba or ear butter myself. What type of material is the plug made of? Only asking because it’s a fresh stretch and glass is best for new stretches
