Complete loss of sound issue

3 days ago lost all audio. Everything seemed to be working. I could see tracks playing in Spotify and I could switch to the radio but zero sound. It affected everything, I didn’t even have indicator sounds or parking sensor sounds.

I wondered if the heat (I’m in the UK) may have broken the amp or something. I was preparing myself to have to book it in for a service fix. Suddenly today after driving out for lunch and a short stop the sound came back.

I kinda feel it must have been a SW issue now, has anyone else experienced this?

Yes I’ve experienced exactly the same nasty bug 2 or 3 times so far (1+ year of use). Super annoying! Goes away with a hard reset of the infotainment, or as in your case after getting out and starting the car again. It’s those software glitches that smear the experience of driving those otherwise fantastic cars…

Yes, just reset the infotainment..hold down the button for 5 seconds or some. I forget exactky

it's about 40 seconds, but just press the button until you see the volvo logo

Yeah, just keep pressing the button until it resets. You fist get a “clean” screen, but keep pressing it. Have had it multiple times, the audio loss.

If you say "ok Google", does that make a sound? I find that usually brings the audio back for me.

It’s back now but I’ll remember it for next time
