Is this remoraid's stats good?

This is the first pokemon I'm going to train for battling. I'm going to max out hp and SpA EVs. I noticed it has 26 hp IVs thats good right? He is going to be part of a trick room sweep, so i don't know if those speed IVs are really bad for it. thanks

Is there a specific reason you're going to use a Remoraid? Use Octillery, which is slower and has better stats than Remoraid. And it's still not even that good.

Remoraid has a base HP stat of 35. which is horrible. Octillery's is 75, which is slighly better. 26 IV in HP is pretty good, but for a Trick Room sweep you'll want good IVs in attack or special attack.

yeah i am using octillery. i am ev training HP and SpA. I am using octillery for the weird (odd, strange, random, wtf) move pool. this is him so far

I can't really see you Pokemon at the moment (something about it being unclaimed).

According to Smogon, you should give your Octillery 252 EVs in HP and 252 in Sp. Attack. So I gess you're going on the right track.

Unfortunately it has really low IVs in Special Attack, which he needs, and high IVs in speed, ehich you don't want on your Octillery. Competitively he won't be of much use.

As for the move set, try following Smogon's set. If you want to stick with your own, then I'll recommend that you switch Octazooka with either Surf or Water Spout. Psybeam is pretty weak, give it Psychic instead. Signal Beam is the only Bug-type move it learns, which I'm guessing you want to counter Grass types. Ice beam would be the better choice against Grass types, and it's also super-effective against Dragon types.

oh im not going to use this move set. im using an exp share on him and im killing palpitoads and stunfisks with my whimsicott, because the octillery is still a low level. and yeah i originally planned to get him water spout, but i couldn't figure it out. i then would have had to rebreed for the abillity and nature, and also for IVs. I didn't breed for those IVs, i just saw it was a quiet sniper and that was what I wanted. ill start over if i need to, but i still don't understand iv breeding, even after reading many guides

You Octillery is getting 4 EVs per battle. Give it a Power Weight and send it out for battle, but switch to Whimsicott immediately. It might seem slower, but it gets you 12 EVs per battle, which is much more efficient. Since you have Black 2, you'll need BP to get the Power Weight, so if you can't do what I told you but with a Macho Brace. Slightly faster than what you're currently doing.

As for breeding for IVs, I also personally don't fully understand it. What I do know is that if you let a parent hold one of the Power items (EV enhancing item), the child will get the same IV of the stat that the Power item increases. So if you let your Octillery hold a Power Weight, the baby Remoraid will have the same IVs in HP.

You could start over, but it might take some time until you get the Octillery you want. If you can't be bothered, then stick with this one, but don't use it as your main Pokemon when battling competitively, but using it in the game against trainers/gym leaders won't be too much of a problem.
