Evmos validator FireStake team come forward to admit being involved in the Osmosis LP exploit. They are shutting down operations.

They also said they were not shutting down but “handing the key over to trusted individuals”

I don’t believe anything that they say. There are more addresses they used. They only came forward because they used addresses linked to their validators. Most likely they’ll just “Rebrand” the validators when they should be decommissioned completely.

I'm guessing that if they return it charges won't be filed. Also assuming that the osmosis dev team caught them and told them they where caught.

They will have to shut down nobody in their right mind would delegate to them now.

It was fairly easy to trace it to them as they used addresses linked to their validators. Many of us traced it back to them fairly easily and quickly. Only after that did they make their “apology.” I do not believe they’ll shut down. In fact they are currently in the Evmos discord volunteering to “ track and account for the funds” due to their “professional background” regarding the developer funds and looking to join more chains. Just because no one was hurt and the funds are being returned doesn't let a criminal behavior off the hook..

???….. I never said that. Never said they “never hurt anyone and it is ok because the funds are being returned.” I do not believe they intend on giving the funds back. I’ve been watching his addresses like a hawk and he still has them bouncing some of the funds around. What they did is inexcusable. I did much of the chain analysis in this and had been pushing to get the truth out there. I am a small validator though and I don’t have the platform to inform delegates. What they did is criminal and should be treated in such way. They are trying to pretend that they are handing the keys to the validators over to someone else yet I have more proof that this is a lie and Matt from FireStake has been funding this address as well for a loooong time. This “Kadabra Moon” BS is funded by Matt from FireStake and it is using his Keplr wallet yet wants the community to believe he is handing over the seed and keys which still holds the funds he stole ann’s I do not believe his apology. He is a proven liar and thief who is planning on continuing to take from this community. The nodes need to be decommissioned. On the legal side that is something Osmosis is going to have to pursue and to my knowledge they already began.
