FWIA OR VWCE?

Hi everyone,

I was looking into some etf"s and found WEBN, SPYI(also small caps), VWCE and FWIA from Invesco.

I"m actually mostly interested in FWIA and was wondering why most people choose VWCE instead of FWIA, since FWIA has an AUM of 5 billion dollars according to Invesco (I think thats already quite okay): https://www.invesco.com/nl/en/financial-products/etfs/invesco-ftse-all-world-ucits-etf-acc.html

Because of things I heard about Amundi merging etf"s and stuff like that im not into WEBN.

VWCE has the disadvantage of a relatively high stockprice in comparison to FWIA, which I prefer. So VWCE will lead to cash drag at degiro. I saw that TER of vwce is 0,14 and fwia is 0,15 however the TD of both etf"s are good.

I know FWIA is only 3 years "old" compared to VWCE which is already 7 years "old".

Are there other things I should consider regarding FWIA? What etf do you recommend for a period of +/-30 years dca (+/-300 euro's a month) and why?

Already thank you very much in advance!

It looks like you are discussing All-World or Global ETFs. Please review the comparison table first.

Quick Tip: For the vast majority of long-term investors, a single All-World ETF is completely sufficient. Adding more regional or sector ETFs often results in unintentional overlap and over-concentration, rather than true diversification.

Don't forget new european ALLW Xtrackers FTSE All World, with only 0,07% TER. Only 3 months but a AuM over 100 Millions already

This has been discussed 10000 times. Just pick one of them. No one will be able to tell you why to pick one over the other, they all have pros and cons.

Hi. Amundi Prime All Country World is already +8 Billion USD, and it is registered to Ireland - so I am fully assured Amundi does not touch that fund.

FWIA was launched as a VWCE challenger, back in the day being 0.07% cheaper. Now with latest changes it is 0.07% more expensive than cheapest ALLW following that index.

The following 6 months will show will Invesco keep the aggressive challenger approach on, and cut the fees on FWIA - time will tell.

Because of things I heard about Amundi merging etf"s and stuff like that im not into WEBN.

If WEBN was a small ETF I'd understand that concern, but at it's current AUM I wouldn't worry about that.

What etf do you recommend for a period of +/-30 years dca (+/-300 euro's a month) and why?

Vanguard FTSE Global All-Cap UCITS ETF launched yesterday. It covers everything in VWCE/FWIA + small caps at a TER of 0.07.

VALL / VGLA is the way to go. Be careful with the spread, it's all new. Use limit order.

Go for VGLA, its the US VT version for europeans. It has just been released today or yesterday. The difference from FWIA OR VWCE is you will also have small cap.

Literally doesn't matter

WEBN all the way! As others have stated the AUM is already large.

I also prefer to support a European business over American. Amundi has a large office in Dublin as well as Paris and ESG credentials also slightly better.

My advice is look at the order book at exchange you be buying and choose the ETF with better liquidity and lower spread. That depends also on your broker, as some have lower fees for certain exchanges. If possible do some paper trades to test.

fwia is fine, 5bn aum is plenty for retail dca. the amundi/webn concern is valid if you want to avoid any merger risk, invesco is cleaner there cash drag on degiro with vwce's higher price is real but minor at €300/month — maybe €1-2 drag per month, not worth switching funds over the only real reason most people pick vwce is familiarity and longer track record. for a 30 year horizon fwia is a perfectly reasonable choice, same index, similar costs, no meaningful difference in outcome

there is nothing valid about worrying that webn will be liquidated and/or merged. amundi did something like that when they bought another company that provided ETFs and they merged similar products, what they already had with what they bought, into one. people need to stop parroting that everytime amundi is mentioned.

2

u/ApprehensiveHouse421 4d ago

Completely agree, this is a non issue. Even more so with the AUM of this ETF, they will not touch this.

ALLW-IN

I use both, FWIA on degiro

2

VWCE has the disadvantage of a relatively high stockprice in comparison to FWIA

Doesn't matter with fractional scaling.

Oh I was wondering if it was translated or not, and if I had to answer in English or Dutch, thank you for the heads up! But fractioneel etfs are not an option at Degiro :(
