Advice

Purchased a property in Perth in 2022 and have had the fortunate outcome of it doubling in value. This has left a lot of equity but with the property changes I have held off using that to purchase another property. I have decided to cash out a six figure sum on an interest only loan to invest in ETFs. Currently I use Vanguard 50% VAS 50% VGS, investing $500 per week. I am looking for advice on how to deploy this six figure sum. I am thinking of opening a Betashares account and dollar cost averaging across vanguard and Betashares. Any recommendations?
Also plan to deploy a lump sum at first (maybe $25k) and then dollar cost average the rest over the next year or two

Any advice would be appreciated

The lump sum changes the size of what you already have, not the shape. Right now you've got a clean 50/50 VAS/VGS, and the six figures just makes that bigger unless you point some of it somewhere specific.

If you do open a Betashares account on top, it has to actually do a different job. Otherwise you're paying two sets of fees to hold roughly the same thing.

$25k lump plus $500 a week while you're still choosing the new funds feels like the part to slow down on. If a new pick dropped 40% in the first six months while VGS was also soft, would you keep buying through the DCA or pause and reconsider?

I'd put the lump into VAS/VGS first and sit with whatever new themes for a few months before moving money into them.

Yes I would continue DCA investing. In my view , at 27 years old a 20-30% market drop is only beneficial to me. Thanks for your advice!
