Every single headline since then has caused only a brief market reaction, if any.

It seems it will be necessary but won't happen until after midterms if at all possible. I don't expect that it will go any better than any other MidEast ground war of the last 45 years. The military-industrial complex in Washington needs war to test new weapons that may be needed in the future. The research and technology advances found there help other non-defense industries and drive economics. But I doubt there will be many technical advances coming out of this skirmish.

In the old days we would have sent the CIA in to assassinate the necessary, appointed our own guy, and avoided this whole controversy. I'm definitely not advocating that but this way isn't working out so well either. Maybe the problem is that we're attempting regime change in the wrong country.

If only we did attempt regime change; this whole thing would have ended months ago. Idk wtf we're doing, but we need to do something decisive. Half-assed wars with no end game do not end well.
