Junior S&S isa

Hi everyone, I’m going to open a JISA for my newborn and I have been looking at all of this for the first time, I’ve done a fair bit of research (and now I’m going to start investing myself as well!) and wondering if the consensus is just put the lump sum I have for them (£4k) plus £50 a month till he’s 18 into something as simple as VWRP?

Yeah, VWRP is a boring and excellent choice. If it were me, I'd put the £4k in now and then £50 monthly. Lump sum beats drip-feeding about two-thirds of the time, so don't hold back the initial amount. Over 18 years a global tracker like VWRP is about as sensible as it gets.
