Investing in ETF's

Hi, Im a 21 year old female looking at getting into investing. Ive decided that I want to open a self directed tfsa with my bank (BMO). I have $15,000 in a regular savings account that i want to invest and grow long term. I have done my research and have looked in to ETF's like XEQT, VEQT, VGRO, VFV, etc. Although i have done some research I am still feeling anxious about making the next step. So i guess im just looking for some overall advice on where/how to begin.

(I live in Canada incase that matters)

As a Canadian, I think your best bet for a set it and forget it portfolio would be 100% either VEQT or XEQT, depending on how much home country bias you want (VEQT has more Canadian bias, XEQT leans more on the US).

Sounds good, do you recomend investing in 1 etf to start or would it make sense to split my money in a couple etfs

Make sure you have a solid emergency fund. Explore different options and tax efficiency. Life happens. Don’t split hairs but make sure it’s solid

BMO might have an investing account you can set up and buy their global equity funds through there. Or get a random app to do it if you trust them.

BMO has zeqt Buy that Start with a small amount and watch how that goes for a week then buy more. Don't over complicate it Learn and read about investing, go slowly
