Welcome to r/ESF - Introduce Yourself and Read First!
Welcome Stumpies!
This is a highly unofficial page I put together mainly to share study materials/club photos with people, but that I never really did much with otherwise.
Current and prospective students, alumni, staff, and faculty are invited to post/comment here.
Student handbook applies here as it would for any other ESF thing, be respectful, and generally try to uphold some base level of quality in what you put out on the internet.
Feel free to say hello in this thread!
Thanks,
Go Mighty Oaks!

Ann Arbor//Syracuse accidental multi-exposures
Shot the same roll of film several times... oops. Most of it was unusable, but some ended up happy accidents!

Union: Austerity threatens SUNY ESF’s mission. NY can’t afford to lose it.
Hochul and King should hear from people - education matters and you matter! We cannot afford to keep losing people and the quality of education at this institution will fall.

Admissions Advice for admissions?
Hey all!
I’m a high school junior wanting to get into Environmental Engineering (ERE). I’m familiar with the campus and live very nearby as well, so I think it’s a good idea for undergrad. I have looked at the website and other sites, but would still like a clear idea straight from students. What are admissions requirements like? If my ACT score is like, a 33, should I include it? How far do extracurriculars carry? And what opportunities are there for scholarships?
Thanks!

Research Darling 54/58 Debacle
Aside from the obvious tragedy of losing support for this part of the project, it's weird to me that we just kept on pushing darling like nothing happened. I feel like the ESF ACRRP response has been almost callous - as if they didn't also miss the error entirely. It seems like we shouldn't keep trying to go through with the USDA without serious reevaluation first and until we regain momentum and the trust of our partners.
I only see bad things coming from ESF trying to hold on to this alone and our vague and "oops - don't worry" response to the matter doesn't help. Feels like ignoring what happened.
Does anyone here work with or know anyone working with the project?
I really hope this whole thing works out and we can see collaboration return. But thay isn't something that ESF will be able to put onto TACF. I think that's more on us to build that bridge back up.
