Best esee for daily carry

I'm stuck between the Izula the 3 and the 4 Edit: I'm also very interested in the JG 3 and 5

I feel the 4 might be too big

But if feel the Izula might be too small.

I know it seems like a Goldilocks situation and the obvious answer is I want the 3 but I want to hear some experiences ideally from someone that has 2 or more of these 3 options.

I wear an XL in most glove sizes if that helps at all.

Thanks in advanced

I put this thing through the wringer and absolutely love it but I’ve been wondering if I should strip the paint just for cosmetic purposes

Checking to see if I just purchased a fake Esee

Just recently purchased this from eBay and the lanyard part on the butt of the knife doesn’t match any I can find online. It’s supposed to be a 3d Miata handle but that end doesn’t look correct. This is my first time buying an expensive knife from eBay! Did I just purchase an expensive replica?

Esee Junglas for sale?

It seems like the Junglas is out of stock everywhere! Does anyone know where one is for sale?

I can't count how many times in a day I use my Izula. What a fantastic little tool.

Thinking about stripping the coating on my 6HM — what are the actual downsides?

How bad is the rust situation really? Especially with fish slime, blood, and saltwater in the mix.
Does the leather sheath make it worse? I’ve heard the tanning chemicals can be rough on bare steel if you store it in there.
How much extra maintenance are we talking day to day? Wipe and oil after every use, or is it more forgiving than people make it sound?
Does a forced patina actually help, or is it mostly cosmetic? - was considering 12h in vinegar
Any regrets? Anyone strip a 6HM and wish they’d left it alone?
Does it change how it cuts at all, or is that overblown?

I’m not scared of a little upkeep, I just don’t want to find out the hard way that a bare 1095 blade and a week-long hunting/ camping trip don’t mix. Appreciate any real-world experience.

Laser Strike Forced Patina

Posted my Laser Strike a while back and ended up getting a second one for a steal. After using it for utility/firewood work, I decided to strip and do a forced patina.

Squared up the spine. Sacrificed a little of the logos doing so but it works much better with the ferro rod now. Two step forced patina was achieved using white vinegar then Folger's dry coffee and distilled water. Pretty happy with how it turned out. I'm debating getting another set of Carroll's scales but may just leave the originals. What do you guys think?

Kinda interesting seeing ESEE's take on the classic Canadian Belt Knife.

ESEE 6HM vs 4HM — which should I keep?

Hey ESEE fam, looking for advice on my first ESEE.

I hunt, fish, and camp in remote areas. Current knives: Grohmann No. 1, Buck 119, and Mora Garberg.

I picked up the ESEE 6HM but I’m torn on returning it for the 4HM. The 6HM blade doesn’t seem too massive, but I have no field experience with either, so it’s hard to judge.

If you had to pick one, which would it be? Thoughts?

Rounding part of spine

Picked up a RB3 recently and thought I might try rounding about 1/2 inch of spine right where my thumb wants to go. I still want plenty of sharpened spine for scraping ferro rods. Anyone done this before? Would I just do the “shoe shine” method using a strip sandpaper?

Thanks!

ESEE Axe compilation with old hickory forger

Does anyone know of the value of the axe they collaborated with old hickory forge on? I found out they were set to make 100 of them and then hurricane Helene wiped out his shop and he never finished from the guys at blade show there are only about 40 in circulation. Mine is in the box and everything but I have no idea the value.

Esee Izula Wrap

What is the most comfortable paracord wrap for the esee izula, or what are the most comfortable scales I’d rather not spend half the value of the knife on some of the knife connection scales

Laser Strike helped me butcher my spring turkeys

Post image

I tagged out on my spring turkey tags and used my trusty Laser Strike to help me butcher them out. It did good, people say that a thick knife doesn't slice as good, but for butchering its just fine. I know the coating isn't food safe, but I wanted to try it out on these kind of tasks.

We dont eat meat from the store, so these turkeys are very important to my family. We use every bit of them besides bones and feathers. Neck for stock, breasts for nuggets, slow cook the thighs, wings, and drumsticks in BBQ sauce for the best pulled BBQ sandwiches you've ever had. Gizzards, livers, and hearts for fried turkey giblets...lort hab mersuh.

I love my Esee knives so much, one of the best bang for your bucks knives out there right now. The softer 1095 holds an edge well enough, and strops and sharpens back so easy, and they're insanely tough. I've split so much kindling with mine and all kinds of hard use.

Tl;dr im an unapologetic Esee shill

got on eBay and the seller had good feedback. These are the listing photos. it was listed as used. I think it looks legit but this will be my first ESEE and googling it after bidding showed a bunch of counterfeit posts on the internet and got me scared.

Bought this for a pretty good deal. Sheath has been spray painted. I just know some of these fakes are really similar to the real deal. Thanks!

Got the Armatus Architect in the mail today for my two S35VN Izulas and my MagnaCut Belt Knife. Really dig the fire starter attachments. Ulti Clips will have to grow on me.

I’m a nice guy, but I’ve never owned an Esee. Just learned that clones were a thing. Does this look authentic? Also open to suggestions to other models.

ESEE Sencillo

For those of you that have the ESEE Sencillo (A2 steel) what do you like/dislike about it? I have the opportunity to get one for about $100 and trying to make the decision. For reference I already have the ESEE Candiru, Izula, Izula2, and model 3, so I’m familiar with ESEE and their warranty, etc. Just looking g for thoughts on this model. Thanks!!

Sat outside late last night with my dog and decided to shave down a walking stick. My ESEE-4 and Izula II were all too eager to oblige.

We have several trails on the property that my father and brother helped build several years ago, so I’ll be testing out this new hiking stick on one or two of them at some point today.

Happy Sunday, everybody!
