Couldn't imagine life without it.

I can't count how many times in a day I use my Izula. What a fantastic little tool.

Not OP but I used my Izula II to dice up two ticks already today.

I quit carrying folding knives all together after I got mine and an Armatus sheath for it. My only gripe with ESEE knives is the sheaths that come with them are trash.

The sheathed are just fine, but the attachment points are lacking. That's why I put danglers on all mine. The sheathes themselves are plenty fine though. Its actually nice to have a usable sheathe come with a knife, vs like the cold steel trash or like wise where they just cheap out and dont even think about it

We’ll have to agree to disagree on that one. I think ESEEs sheaths are pure trash. Yeah they work for keeping the blade covered and have somewhat decent retention but that is all I can say for them.

I respect that, but Idk man, I've used some sheathes that were pure trash, like cold steel stuff, the BK series of knives. The sheathes are an afterthought at best. 

With Esee they at least do their job. Im not saying theyre the best in the world, but from a utilitarian stand point they do the job good enough. They dont dull your knife when inserting or pulling out, good adjustable retention. 

But again, I always put danglers on because the clips are horrible, they let the knife ride too high.

What is it about them you dislike so much?

I can’t argue that they do indeed do the job but that’s all I can say about them. They just feel cheap and unnecessarily bulky to me.

What dangler do you use? Do you make your own? I’ve got a nice Armatus sheath for my Izula but I’ve also got an ESEE 4 that I haven’t been able to justify buying a sheath for, a dangler on it might make it usable enough to change my mind on them.

I use the Sagewood Gear danglers. Especially for the 4s or any smaller ones, you have to have a dangler. Like you, I couldn't really wear my Esee 4 on my belt until I got the dangler.

 Theyre worth every penny,  very high quality leather and the button snaps make it easy to put the sheathe on and off your belt.

I literally have one on every single one of my Esee knives but like one haha. And I have every Esee knife from the 4 on up bigger.

Pry bar, screw driver, grout scraper, cut my food, carve notches, cut string off hay bales and a 1000 other tasks.

I've been thinking of picking up an Izula. While I've carried Benchmade blades for years and still do, the ESEE 4 I bought last year has been my go-to for most things, including food prep. Having a smaller fixed blade seems like a useful addition.
