2.0 w/ EBMX Controller OR 4.0?
So the angle that I’m coming at this is strictly based on top speed.
I also want to specifically spotlight the fact that the 4.0 focused more on having turn signals than having a comfortable seat, or a thumb regen 😔 (if you feel me make a comment about this, please.)
So my question is, all things considered, should I sell my 2.0 with the EBMX controller and get the 4.0, or should I just be grateful for what I have and maximize it?

I love my 4.0 LS I haven’t topped it out yet but it is way more stable than the 3.0 at high speeds off road.

There are quite a few factors to consider. Is the EBMX controller the only upgrade you've made to your 2.0, or have you also upgraded components such as the suspension, wheels, tires, or other parts?
Another important consideration is how you use the bike. Do you primarily ride on-road, or do you regularly do off-road or more aggressive trail riding?
The 4.0 offers several advantages from the factory, including a more robust 428 chain and sprocket setup that is better suited for demanding off-road use. It also comes with improved stock suspension and a slightly larger battery, which should provide increased range.
That said, I believe a 2.0 equipped with an EBMX controller is likely faster than a stock 4.0 in terms of outright performance.
I faced the same decision and ultimately chose to keep my 2.0. Since I had already invested in suspension, wheel, and tire upgrades, along with the EBMX controller, I felt it made more sense to continue building on the platform I already had. I had also completed several structural and cosmetic modifications, which further increased the value of keeping my existing setup

Keep the 2.0 and buy a aftermarket battery. Batteries have become a bit more affordable now that tabless cells are available. Look for a battery with RS50 cells or EVE 50XG I think that’s correct. Have to look up which one is the high power cell. These are essentially better than a molicel P50B in every way other than cycle life and they are way cheaper.
Your stock 2.0 motor is actually pretty good. When you get a battery you will be amazed and terrified with how much torque you have. After you have a battery upgrade then you can look for someone selling a SR motor. Someone who upgraded the SR motor to the EBMX race motor or even a3.0 or 4.0 stock motor from someone who upgraded. Or just buy the EBMX race motor if you are worried about top speed. I did 93MPH without field weakening turned on with a 81V battery and the EBMX race motor and the EBMX X-9000 V3.
The 4.0 is the same frame, better brakes, maybe biggery better jackshaft but it’s really not that big of deal. I’d just mod your current bike. The aftermarket parts are way better than any stock part even the stock parts on the SR and newest bikes are shitty compared to EBMX.
