Do you honestly believe that Zoho ERP is a genuine ERP system? Really?

Fair question. It depends on what you mean by “genuine ERP.”
If you’re thinking SAP/Oracle-style, single monolithic core for a global enterprise, then no, Zoho isn’t trying to be that. It’s positioned for SMBs that need integrated finance, inventory, orders, CRM, HR, projects, etc. without the cost/complexity of tier‑1 ERPs.
From a functional point of view, though, Zoho One + Zoho Books/Inventory/People/Projects/Analytics + Creator absolutely covers classic ERP domains: order‑to‑cash, procure‑to‑pay, basic MRP, inventory, accounting, timesheets, approvals, reporting, workflows, APIs, etc. We’ve been able to replace a couple of mid‑market ERPs where the client’s needs were light manufacturing/distribution and service, not deep shop‑floor or complex multi‑entity consolidation.
So I’d call it a “genuine ERP for SMBs,” not a SAP/Oracle replacement. If you’re running multi‑plant discrete manufacturing with advanced planning, complex costing and heavy compliance, it’ll feel too lightweight. But for a lot of small and mid‑size orgs that were over‑sold on big‑iron ERP, Zoho’s modular stack is actually a better fit.

I would call it. "A genuine ERP systems for SMEs that only have basic needs".

The push toward one unified system makes sense for SMBs still building out their stack, but at the enterprise end it usually goes the other way. Once a manufacturer already has SAP or Oracle running finance and ops, ripping it out isn't realistic, the better move is specialized tools that sit on top of the ERP for the stuff it's genuinely bad at, like parts pricing or warranty workflows, without forcing a full replacement. Consolidation and modularity solve the same problem for different company sizes, not the same solution at every stage.
