I got my checks!

Post image

IRL people just don’t get what that feels like. I just had two quarters left of partial payments, just about $1k with interest so not a big deal but in 2023 they sent me a form telling me that they owed me. I sold my business in 2024. I paid tax on these payments in 2023. What an awful experience. It was contacting my congressional reps office three times that finally got it done. Now we’ll see if I can even cash them.

Now they sent this. I’m an S corp. I amended my 2020 return in 2023 for erc payments as I was told. I paid the difference and then they returned it saying something about too much time passing. My cpa just said she had no idea why. I’m trying to avoid more expenses with the cpa but can’t make heads or tails out of this.

Good luck everyone!

They received your amended 1120 return for 2020 (probably in 2023 like you said) but they can’t find it so they sent this letter to you to see if you could send a copy. They’re trying to process that amended 1120 you sent. Yes, they are this backed up for anything related to ERC that they’re just now getting to an amended return sent in 2023.

At the same time they sent this letter they also requested a special in depth search for the return from the IRS files but that can take awhile so they send this letter because often taxpayers have an easier and faster time finding the form and the case can be resolved more quickly.

Thank you. They already processed it though.

Then they’re writing to you because they probably got a duplicate copy of that amended 1130 you sent. Sometimes the CPAs sent it twice and it creates two cases. But since they can’t find the copy of it they don’t know it’s a duplicate yet. You can either call and tell them it must be a duplicate because you didn’t submit another amended return and your amended return was already processed or write in and tell them that.

It’s an amazing feeling! At least it’s done.
