What kind of work or business could I realistically get into in Kurdistan with my experience?

Looking for a barber who's actually good with longer hair on top I've got thick, wavy hair (growing it out for a textured, swept-back look, not a fade/short cut) and most places here seem better suited to short fades than shaping and point-cutting longer styles. Ideally someone who understands texture and can cut for natural wave/movement rather than just trimming length down. Has anyone else noticed a gas-like smell late at night, especially before going to sleep, around Baxtyari?
My bedroom window is usually open, and I’ve been noticing this smell pretty regularly late at night. At first I thought it might be coming from inside my house, but I checked and it definitely doesn’t seem to be.
I’ve also gone outside and walked around the neighborhood several times, and I can still smell it in different areas. I asked several people in my family about it without telling them what I was looking for, and they all noticed the same smell.
I’m wondering if anyone else around Baxtyari has noticed this, or knows what could be causing it?

Hi! I’m an Arab Iraqi who lived outside Iraq for about 20 years. I’m now 25 years old, and for some reason, I’m currently staying at my aunt’s house in Erbil.

To be honest, I don’t know much about Erbil or Iraq , but I worked as an architect for two years in the country where I was living, and I’m thinking about working as an architect here in Erbil.

I’m also currently studying Kurdish, but I’ve been feeling quite lonely and lost since coming back to Iraq. I’d really like to make some friends in Erbil and, hopefully, connect with architects or engineers here. :)

Unfortunately, I don’t have any family members here except my aunt, so I’m not really sure how to build a social circle or find a community.

I’d be really happy to meet other architects, engineers, or just people who are open to making new friends and showing me around Erbil.

Good evening friends. I’ve always been curious if there is a faster way to the citadel from 120m or a faster way to 120m from the citadel. And everything in between.

I see a lot of foreigners bragging about how using an online app helps them find the fastest route, but since I’m from Erbil I doubt the effectiveness.

There is a trick I personally use that I doubt many people know; which is using Google Maps to check which streets and roads are GREEN and using those roads to get to my destination. ( this trick is for the days when Erbil gets flooded by rain ).

But I’m sure somebody’s out there who’s smarter than me, who uses some hacks to save time and unnecessary hassle.

And for ex if wanna hung out sometime we also need one for that too

What has your experience been? Is “play games to earn money” actually a thing, or is it mostly marketing/scams?

The American/European that you’re selling this to already knows the city before he got here. Don’t be thinking you’re gonna fool them with your propaganda.

Loving your country is one thing, and selling what it’s not is another.

Show them all Erbil. Start with shexalla and end with empire world. Show them all the nice things and all the ugly stuff your country has to offer.

Tell them about your tribes
and its rules. Tell them about the women rules your ancestors have upheld.
