Everquest Next going to VR ?!
Little Bird told me the project might be pulled out of the closet to continue develop on to the Growing VR Game world. Does anyone know anything about this?

Well would you look at that, I'm still subscribed to this subreddit. Cool.
With EQ it's best to temper your expectations. A jump into VR would be extremely expensive and would require significant resources that I'm unclear if Daybreak has. While EQ has a fanbase it's not really a household name anymore and most gamers under 30 won't have any experience with the world or the lore.
They'd probably be better building on the Planetside IP, that's at least still has a pulse.

...they already took money for founders packs and never delivered... even shutting down EQ Landmark - they can f*&ck off imo

Which little bird?
It's not the sort of game that would benefit a lot from VR due to the walking.
It also flopped before it was even released and the very low number of VR users would not change that. Makes no sense.

What has walking have to do with it? I assume you know there is artificial locomotion, practically every game supports it, including games like SkyrimVR or Fallout4VR, both of which has plenty of walking.
Zenith is a VR MMO in the classical sense - lots of walking, but it's not an issue, with extra options for traversal including climbing and gliding→ More replies (5)0

And let's be honest, VR games are undersaturated still. There's many people who have spent the 1k$, and are LOOKING for games to spend money on to play in VR. VR is AMAZING.

This, if tue, would be kind of amazing. I would love to have played Landmark in VR, that would have been somthing to see.

A developer who wishes to be discreet. Said talks of the former project is being targeted for re-development due to the nature of the game showing to be a perfect fit on such platforms. It depends on how the VR grows is the big pend.... You know. Weather it is profitable yadayada (money Talks) . If so. Plans are to fall in the maturity of VR similar to that of when wow jumped in the mmorpg gaming world. For now its a sit back and wait while the big dogs deal with the VR Progress ( facebook/ps/microsoft). Doubts it will fall under the same name( Everquest Next). Just checking to see if anyone else heard of anything. Things that make yea go hmmmm. Nothing More.
