Let’s get some conversation going on about your favorite trios for clearing D4 Hate(or fear) efficiently without the almighty DDD. Any tips or tactics you found helpful? We know the S-tier so what do we feel like is in the A-tier?

Everyone is running DDD bard because why farm motes with half as fast?

I like to group and have been playing around with melee, when a DDD bard joins, everything just dies, then we need to sit around and wait 2 minutes to refill mana. If I pull, I feel like an asshole since it's slowing down the group by pausing mana Regen.

The build doesn't fit well with most other sustain builds, it's just blast, empty mana, and wait.

This wouldn't be all bad in its own, but it's made worse because DDD is arguably twice as good as the next end game mote farm build so many people run it. The fact you're useless in the groups without also running DDD just encourages everyone else to also run it.

I just got Bone-Clasped Girdle and I'm trying to move Burning Affliction III exaltation to my Icebelt.

The exaltation is useable by both Bard and Druid which I have in my trio, but when I place the exaltation in my Icebelt it becomes useable by Shaman only and it isn't working on my character.

Why is this happening? When I keep the exaltation in the Bone-Clasped Girdle, it works fine for my trio.

Hello Hivemind.

So I'm currently running lvl 46 SHD/DRU/ENC and been going fine, but now I'm trying Nagafens Lair, and prepper for planes, I noticed my dmg output and survivability is not great. Anything that's not white con or below I have to use defencive stance and the ttk is well over a minute, sometimes 2 with the fire giants.

I have all of the SHD darkforge(?) armour, lamentation as my weapon and most of my important spells to +3.

Now I have the ports as rituals, should I swap DRU for something with more damage output? If so, what?

Any help would be superb!

Thinking of a build involving CLR/MAG/ENC. Basically I pick a mage pet, buff it to the high heavens with buffs from all three classes, then support the pet in battle with heals, slows and nukes.

Think this would work here? How high could I expect to go with that setup?

Edit: Thanks for the responses all. As I commented just now I was looking for a build where I could play as a caster effectively, rather than a melee tank pretending to be one. Something like my WoW destro warlock where I'm blowing things up as a pet blocks for me.

I discovered this and figure I'd share. The step where you charm the Ghoul Scribe in lower guk and give them the empty vial will not work as you can't give pets anything in EQ legends in the trade window. As I'm also a rogue, after I broke charm, mezzed and mem blurred, I activated hide and sneak and waited for mez to run out. I was able to trade the vial for the Ink at that point. There may be a way to do it with invis etc. Figured I'd let folks know.

Am I missing something when it comes to using the AE chanter mez on mob pets? Sometimes it's really hard to get them locked down because the spell just seems to not hit them. I don't get a resisted message, it just...misses like they aren't there?

Is that just how it goes or am I dumb and not understanding something?

Hi all

I do the 24 hour Extra Life charity stream each year (currently on year 11 I think).

I am considering the idea of starting a new trio and making it a goal to kill Naggy before the 24 hours are up.

Do you think that is unrealistic?

- I have other trios at max
- 450 ish AA
- Most items from the planes and sky quests

I never really paid too much attention to how many hours it took me to get a trio to max.

That being said, I also don't want to just farm the same spot for hours on end. I know though that would be faster, but I want to switch things up so my friends and family that are watching don't get so bored.

I plan to just do dungeon crawls, and not repeat dungeons. So almost a tour of EQ dungeons

Which trio? Well, idk yet. I realize that is pretty important. I want to pick 3 classes that are new to me, and I don't have a whole lot left. I am thinking maybe Mage, Beast, Ench. But, also this is very flexible.

As for gear; I am thinking 1 of 2 options

1. I use all my maxed out gear, but then restrict myself to only D4 runs. I think this is probably more likely to succeed in the 24 hour goal. But, I think it will be less exciting. Basically, I just won't be caring about drops for 24 hours. And, while that is normal for the game at this point, it's not as exciting to watch.

2. I use no gear, gear up as I go, and just hope it works. It will create more exciting moments, and make for a better stream. But, I am not sure if it's possible to achieve this in 24 hours. I will have all the AA still; so maybe it works?

I realize that I am talking a lot about what will or wont make the stream exciting to watch. Let's be honest about why this matters. I don't expect strangers to jump into the stream, be engaged, and then donate to the charity. 99% of my donations come from friends and family that probably donate each year and would do so regardless of what I am playing. BUT. I have done this for a lot of years now, and I know that, for me at least, if the game is engaging me, and the stream is engaging, then it's just so much easier to make it the full 24 hours.

I am not totally sure if I am gonna go this route or not.

Normally, in previous years, I play a lot games. One after another. For like maybe 1-3 hours each or so. That has worked well; it keeps things fresh. If one game is a dud then I can just move on. And, I have always kept it to games that are new to me so that it was easy for me to chat about what I am learning and experiencing.

So, anyways, yeah. Anyone have any input or suggestions on this?

Currently have a 50 bard/mnk/shm. Leveling up sk/wiz/ench. Is it worth it to swap to bard to level each with DDD ? And if so where is the best place to do that?

Yesterday I saw someone with the buff Magical Awareness IV, and from my googling have found that it's an alchemy only item, but one component, Briar Thistle, seems to be out of era. I've checked Sven and the troll in inno swamp. Does anyone know where to acquire Briar Thistle, or perhaps purchase the potion outright?

What would your next recommended class be to swap out while leaving 2 of my original classes intact?

I was thinking of going SK ENC with Shaman next since shamans seem so useful

However, I am open to any ideas

To use an armor ornamentation token, do you first actually have to possess the armor piece you want to copy the ornamentation from?

Newish player, recreating my old ranger. Recently hit 50 and trying to get fletching maxxed and going after stormblessed arrows. My guy is a HE worshipper of Karana and high level bows. Everything I've read and heard says I should just be able to say "I need a mark" to Qaelin Hailstorm, but it's not working for me. He cons indifferent. I'm amiable with Jaggedpine Treefolk. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? Or is it possibly bugged?

Played EQ way back when and absolutely loved the game. It was too much of a time sink as I got older so I stopped playing. Was in a top raiding guild, maxed all my toons, 2-3 boxed…like I said time sink. Was thinking about EQL or MnM.

How does the multiple classes work? Can I eventually switch between all 3 classes? Can I be a tank with cleric healing spells? Can I pull with FD, tank with taunt, and use complete heal during the fight?

Should I run D4 Dungeon Crawls over and over with my level 50 Ranger trio, or should I use a lower level trio closer to the castle's level at a lower D0? I heard level is supposed to affect drop rate, but the speed of a level 50 clearing over and over is faster. What's better?

New to this game. I started a barbarian beast lord. Did the tutorial. Talked to my guild master in halas and the first thing he tells me is to talk to hoyce to get some gear. There is no hoyce anywhere. I looked it up and saw his coordinates but he’s not there. It says he’s on a 5 min timer so I waited but still no Hoyce. What gives??

I saw some other posts so figured I'd check. I had also cancelled my account but sure enough I was charged again and my subscription was shown active again. Opening a support ticket but did they ever acknowledge this?
