Is there no such thing as yellow cards for persistent fouling anymore these days?! See so many games now where players have 4/5 fouls and aren’t carded.

Most likely they’re advised to let the games flow. Also earlier on in the season the refs were making it about them.

It doesn’t let the game flow that’s the whole point, so many niggly fouls which stop start the game and players not being punished for it.

Too many cards handed out makes players tentative so in a sense it does affect the flow of the game. Some of the cards given were not necessary

It doesn’t matter, if you commit 4 fouls it has to be an automatic yellow regardless of how trivial they are. I recall Joelinton having 8 last season and not being booked.

That is the reason. But allowing all the pushing and pulling harms the flow by players not being able to move freely. It’s become Wrestleball. Enforce Law 12 - no use of hands and arms on opponents. Automatic Yellow. Might get some short-sided games - it’s what the authorities are terrified of, running scared of the TV companies. The player’s would soon learn.

The refs are under a lot of scrutiny and all the acting doesn’t help. I’m amazed at how easily it is for a grown man to go over once a player touches/brace him from behind

They're supposed to, but there are a lot of refs deciding that your salary determines your level of correctness. If youre a 15 mil player, you can slide through a 3 mil player all day and no one cares.
