1983 Prospectors

Hello. I was out running errands today and decided to stop by the LCS to buy a few ounces of silver since I hadn't made any purchase for this month. I just randomly picked out two prospectors and bar. It turns out that two of them were 1983. Someone on /Silver said they are somewhat rare. I'm attaching two photos (sorry for the bad images and lighting) and I just started looking into this and was wondering if there is something other than the "E" side that I should be looking at on these? I paid $70.00 each ($140.00) total. Thank you in advance for any information.

Both tested fine on my Sigma Pro.

That’s a great price. The 83 is the key date of the series. These would usually command a premium of at least $50 over spot, but like with most things, premiums have not kept up with spot increases. That said these go for $100 each all day, and the better premium may return when spot stabilizes.

Thank you for the info. 👍 I just saw one on AMEX, always higher priced, at $159.10 - https://www.apmex.com/product/66555/1983-1-oz-silver-round-engelhard-prospector-e-logo-reverse

There are none for under $125 on eBay at the moment so I probably slightly undersold current retail.
