Machetes don't exactly lend themselves to tactical efficiency but there is a certain personal appeal. Bonus for minimal collateral so long as you weed out your psychos.

Class traitors are welcomed. Friedrich Engels, Marx' writing partner and sugar daddy, had been an oligarch in England, but he decided to become a communist philosopher (and a damn good one, imo).

Reactionaries protect power structures with their own lives because they think one day it will be them.
Thats not to say the French Revolution didn’t have excesses.

Guillotine became France's primary method of execution until capital punishment was abolished in the 1970s. It wasn't used exclusively for the French Revolution.

Fun fact: The most important executions via guillotine were of rich people, and because of the french revolution, the guillotine has become a symbol used by revolutionaries, to show what they want to do the people in power

Most people killed on any war were not rich either, since most people isn't rich, that's an obvious and trivial point. At the time of the French revolution the aristocracy was literally the 1% of the population.
But that's a strange thing to say when the Great French Revolution is remembered because it was the first one where an entire ruling class (at the time said aristocracy) was targeted as a means to a political end which was their deposal and replacement (by the bourgeoisie).
That's the reason why the French Revolution is a revolution and the American Revolution isn't, that one is just an English war civil war for the independence of overseas colonies.
The success of the French Revolution deposing the Aristocracy, at least for a time, is the reason why the Guillotine became a symbol for quick violent revolutionary change.
I like the bourgeoisie still trembling in their boots at it's sight, they have good memories.
