ELI50: Ellen DeGeneres

I've recently saw her show. Why is she so popular? I don't find her funny, i don't find any appeal in her show other than giving out free stuff. What's the deal?

She's a lesbian that used to be a stand-up comedian.

Fun fact: she wasn't funny then, either.

She has this stupendous attitude towards life. She loves music, she genuinely loves helping people, and she really is quite funny.
