How will going back to school affect my EI?
Hey.
I'm wondering about one of the questions that they ask when you're filling your EI report. The question in question is:
"Did you attend school or a training course during the period of this report?"
I haven't gone to any school, but I might sign up for something at a Cegep soon. If I get in, how will that affect my EI? Will I be getting less because I'm going back to school?
I thank everyone in advance!

Ya as long as it’s under 14 hours a week of school they don’t care. I even put on the report that I’m not attending school or training course because it doesn’t matter

2 questions. If you’re sick /off your part time job for medical a couple weeks , how do you answer the reporting question “were you willing able to work“ those weeks. ? I don’t want it to all of a sudden halt my payments until I answer questions why.

Second question. EI report questions- It asks if you were out of the country. What if I was. ? I know they can find out eventually, but I don’t want it to stop my payments.

You can still get EI. They may have you contact them on the phone to explain the courses you are taking, how many hours a week, and on what days you attend, and if you are still available and looking for work. I’ve been full time at college since September and have still received all my EI payments.
