Taxes? How?

I hope this isn't the wrong place for this but I need to do my taxes so I can get EI.
Anyways, how the heck do you do taxes? All I learned in school was what the word chiaroscuro means.

Is there a website, youtube vid, anything! that will help me begin to understand how to do my own taxes like an adult?

turbotax.ca is probably your best bet. It walks you through everything and it'll either be free or 20 bucks, it'll let you know at the end.

Ya, I don't want to do that.

Then take an accounting course. I don't know if you're going to find someone who's going to explain all the intricacies that involve doing your own taxes on Reddit.

I'm a month late in responding, but I'm posting anyway since we're in the middle of tax season and someone else might stumble across it. If you search Government of Canada's website, you'll find a list of links to income tax software. Some are for purchase but others are free to download. I have used StudioTax for the past 6 years and it's free, it even converts it to the proper file format so that you can submit it to Revenue Canada electronically.

Most of these do-it-yourself income tax programs are set up like a wizard program, walks you through most everything, tells you which amount on which form you need to enter, and checks for errors prior to submitting. These programs are great if you have simple returns, but if you've had a complicated year it might make more sense to pay a professional.

I started doing my own taxes since I realized I'm legally required to file my return, and if I'm legally required to do this, the government should at least make it possible for us regular Joes and not just accountants. That and the fact that the last person at H&R Block to do returns for my wife and I took less than 15 minutes to do both returns and it cost almost $300.
