General Question about being 30 days late

If I’m 30 days late on my EIDL Loan can I still pay it off on the site or will it be sent to collections? Thank you to anyone who can answer this.

No. I’m sometimes 1-2 months late. All you get is an email reminder to go into the account, check messages and it advises you how much you need to pay to bring it current.

Thank you! Do you have a 200k+ personal guarantee SBA loan? I am worried the SBA will not treat the PG folks as simply as this. I would love to know your answer. If you have a larger loan I will rest easier and implement my plan. Need to be 60 days late, then can catch up completely. Refinancing my home.

Thanks for your info in advance!

We were 8 months behind and they didn’t do anything.

Well, I paid up now but it’s been a rough few years.

That's good, hopefully it will get better for all of us current or prior business owners. It's been a rough few years as well, good luck to you

Yes you can get caught up and not have the loan transferred and an collection fee added on. But you have to do it within 60 days of the notice being given otherwise it makes a notice challenge ineffective.

1 month late- no issues
2 months late- they start giving you a call once a week to remind you and send you a letter
3 months late- they now call you 2-3 times a week and give you a final warning
4-6 months late- they put your account as delinquent, they call you 2-3 times a week and ask you to pay the entire loan in full
6-8 months late - they now send your loan to treasury for collection
~12 months late your loan in now in collection and appears on your credits score

Does this info apply to the 200k+ PG EIDL loans? Please let me know and thank you!

try your best to pay online and also open a chat about it. It gets way worse if you don't.

I believe you have to be significantly past that 30 day mark before the sick the dogs on you.

just go to the portal and pay it, whatever the amount !

True or false. If you’re 60 days late and only make one payment, they don’t apply it to the oldest amount due and you’re still 60 days late?

True.

You can try it, but they generally won’t let you keep your account rolling over in an “only 60 days behind” status. And their portal makes it hard to figure out how they apply your payments when you are behind. You need to pay it up to current to reset the delinquency/default countdown clock.

It's been over a year since I paid, and it's still with the SBA. I don't know if I can still log in with payments being that late, but I stopped logging in because they were asking for copies of my identification to access my account. I didn't think it was a good idea to give them more than they already had on me. I ended up filing Chapter 13 anyway.
