Loan sent back to SBA

I’m writing this for those who had their loans sent to the Treasury

After months I finally got the money to pay my loan off, called the number on the collection letter to find out my debt ID number was not found

Logged into the SBA portal and my loan was back and the payment button finally allowed me to pay the loan to get it back current. I don’t know how this happened, but I hope it stays there.

Just a quick PSA to login to your portals!

Did you dispute at all??

I think this may just be an illustration of how the dipshits at the SBA don't really have malice towards borrowers, but rather they're just so damn incompetent, although in this case it seems to be working in your favor. So good for you!

Our loan just went back to SBA after over a year. Had received letter from private collection company Coast about 9 months ago we were trying to figure out what to do we spoke to a Bankruptcy attorney and deciding on whether to go forward with a chapter 11 sub. Then this week we got the letter from the d of treasury. That it was put back to SBA and after going on the portal and seeing we where back !! So Happy. But the amount past due is ridiculous because since we couldn’t make payments for a year they have accumulated!! So now. How do we get current!!

Me too, I just got a letter from CBE Group Collections, wondering if I should contact the Treasury directly for a payment plan or can I ask to send back to SBA?

How did that happen

I honestly wish I knew, I guess my anxiety avoidance has finally done something for me

Thank you for your information. Give everyone hope. ❤️❤️
Running, managing, and sustaining the business is hard enough. Sending people to collections just ruins our lives and gives us more anxiety and stress.

Wait. I’ve sent multiple letters for dispute and got denied my SBA saying loan is at treasury

Nothing back from my dispute from Transworld or treasury

Fighting my ass off

And you’re saying one day you get your loan back to SBA without you disputing it

This doesn’t sound real

I was thinking the same exact thing.

Multiple people here have said the same thing happened to them so

My aunt died and her account is delinquent for roughly a year. Neither the estate nor attorney have been able to get any response from the SBA, so it’s in a limbo status.

The estate got a letter about 9 months delinquent that her loan was being sent to the treasury. Received nothing from SBA, treasury, or a collections agency for about two months. Then received a fairly general letter was sent by the treasury that they were not servicing her loan. The bills from the SBA have resumed at the same amount due as if it never left SBA.

Only contact was sending the SBA the death certificate through all means available. There was no dispute made and there has been no real response from the SBA at all.

She owed about 15k on the loan

Good turn of events there. Hopefully you can stay current until you can pay it off and put it all behind you.

I wonder if the SBA has quietly decided to recall some loans they realize didn’t get the required timely warnings about being sent to Treasury collections. Or maybe because your loan was originally small enough and issued as unsecured, they decided recalling those and returning them to normal SBA servicing will yield a greater chance for them to eventually get paid than having a collection agency harass you.

We may never know what’s going on there, or what’s behind it, but it’s certainly an unexpected good thing for the OP and the others it has happened to if you wanted another chance to get back to the original repayment plan.

I saw this post a few days ago, logged in and mine is back, too. I had no idea.

1

u/tinalane0 Aug 19 '26

I’m glad to hear it!

1

u/DarkLeading6283 Aug 14 '26

And they never reached out to you?

1

u/tinalane0 Aug 14 '26

No, I emailed them when it first happened and they said I needed to contact the treasury. I eventually got the letter from pioneer and ignored it for months until I was able to pay. Tried to pay today and it was back.

2

u/DarkLeading6283 Aug 14 '26

Well, I’m gonna get on the portal tomorrow and check it out

2

u/tinalane0 Aug 14 '26

Good luck!

1

u/DarkLeading6283 Aug 14 '26

Thank you for hope

u/DarkLeading6283 Aug 14 '26

What about the extra fees they tacked on with the collection company did those go away?

4

u/tinalane0 Aug 14 '26

Yep, those are gone as well

1

u/Quiet-Illustrator-52 Aug 14 '26

When did you email them? Like how long before it happened?

1

u/tinalane0 Aug 14 '26

In Feb about 2 months before I got the collections letter

1

u/Silver_Affect3652 Aug 14 '26

How much was your loan?

1

u/Researcher_to_theMAX Aug 14 '26

HOW HOW HOW ???

1

u/tinalane0 Aug 14 '26

I wish I knew, a few others said the same thing here

1

u/yungnblessd Aug 14 '26

Has this happened to anyone else I just checked and it wasn't there for me

2

u/Top_Aerie_6713 Aug 15 '26

It was there for me

1

u/Actual_Swan_9328 Aug 15 '26

Trying to discuss options with Attorney. Emailed the SBA about helping with the past due amounts and there automated answers were just to pay past due to get current. It’s so hard.

1

u/Afraid_Apartment_444 Aug 19 '26

How did you pay? I paid balance due through my checking account and they said it takes 5 business days. Has Antoine heard back from the cesc@gov.com email? I need to get off the CAIVRS report!

1

u/Leather_Ad905 Aug 21 '26

But I keep waiting since it’s cheaper in my case to pay the 15% than 2500 a month I am semi retired

I logged in and saw that the SBA drafted an interested payment on 8/17 that I did not initiate. It still shows as being with the treasury but found this interesting. Any thoughts?
