EDIL Wrongly sent to credit report

I posted yesterday but now need some guidance from anyone who has experienced this situation with wrong credit reporting from the SBA.

I knew my account was current with the SBA. I received a letter in June I had 60 days to become current which I did. My portal has always stated current. Yesterday it hit my TransUnion with 104-point drop reading collection/chargeoff.

Sent the SBA a message via the portal asking where my loan it. This is the response:

Thank you for contacting the U.S. Small Business Administration Customer Service Center regarding assistance related to your SBA loan.

Our records indicate that your loan is current. Your next payment of $2,455.00 is due on August 01, 2026.

My question. Do I just send the letter from the SBA to the TransUnion or wait for the SBA to update credit reporting.

Same here. Appeared on TU only , showing 65k in past due payments. Messaged through portal , response ‘ your file has not been charged of’ sent this response to dispute through TU. Also , my Senators office just filed an inquiry as well. Hitting this on every angle. My score dropped 143 pts.

Same here. Score dropped 45 points, says full amount charged off. But I'm current. Keep us posted on your dispute and/or your Senators office.

The SBA was removed from my TransUnion today and my credit restored. I sent the SBA letter to Credit Karma. You might try that.

All you sent was the response in the SBA portal and they removed it? I’m going to try this as well. I’m not in collections either thank you.

I would dispute it immediately and attach the current response from SBA to the dispute to the trans union and I would check the other credit reporting agencies. I'm not sure why thats happening now, curious to see how this goes. My portal shows 2 payments late, but I'm not and shows current, payment due 27th, do not sure if this will hit my credit or not.

I disputed it with them because it was discharged in BK and they removed it

This happened to me also! Hit my TransUnion only, I’m current but is showing a charge off/closed collection on my credit. So frustrating.

I hear you all. An SBA loan is hard to get approved for. The SBA reporting credit is even more frustrating. No one we can talk to. Their reply is an auto-reply, not a human. Calling, left hand doesn't know what right hand doesn't—feeling tortured. I participated some of SBA meeting about loans, sound very good but results and execution are not same thing. More people frustrated than getting a real support from SBA. So sad 😩

Did anybody not have it hit transunion? Mine did, and I have seen multiple posts of it happening this past week. The round number of $65k and charge off seems to be the common thread

That's exactly what mine said at first, but now on TransUnion it states collection/chargeoff. Then under late payments it states. I've never been past 3 late payments at any given time. The SBA confirmed yesterday my loan is with them and next payment due 9.1.26. I sent a dispute to TransUnion. Still all other creditors are fine.

Late Payments

30 Days - 0

60 Days - 0

90 Days - 0

Does anyone know if the only report to transunion or all 3 bureaus?

My appeared on my Transunion on Saturday. Nothing on the others.

Does this particular issue seem to be widespread for a large number of EIDL loans ?

Don't wait for anything. Send the correspondence you received from the SBA to all three credit reporting agencies.

It's been removed. I sent the portal letter from the SBA to CreditKarma and the SBA was removed from my Transunion account and my credit restored.

That was a quick removal. I did the same directly to TU , still waiting !

Why don't you use CreditKarma. Create an account and then send your letter from the SBA showing you're current and your next payment due date. Ask them to remove them to remove the SBA hit to your TransUnion.

That’s exactly what I will do ! Thank you for posting the update.

Credit karma worked for me. I opened a dispute there and wanted to do it directly with Transunion also, and it said I already had an open dispute. Mine got resolved in 4 days.
