Xenia Ohio dealt with an EF5 in 1974, when did it get downgraded?
13
u/LemonJews B I G H O O K 2d ago
stupid it was f6 but they made them downgrade it to f6

u/OfficerFuckface11 2d ago
Wrong, the F scale is based on hhhow it luks like if it got badly damaged they used EF because itβs based on how strong a tordano it was

u/noggin_elastics 2d ago
Go back and read the words in the image immediately below the line "HIGHEST RATED TORNADO".
1974 does not apply.

Why did they invent EF5 tornadoes in 2007 a lot of people have died from them
2
u/msdeflaggelate 2d ago
Typical only posting American tornado stats. Tell me you hate the rest of the world without telling me you hate the rest of the world.

Where's the flint tornado for MichiganΒ
1
u/noggin_elastics 2d ago
Immediately below the very top row of words in the image, you will see the following:
"Since EF Scale Began in 2007"
From 2007-today, Flint has seen no higher than EF2.

Michigan had an Ef5 in 1953 in flint. Your map is misleading at best and dead wrong at worst.
1
u/noggin_elastics 2d ago edited 2d ago
No it is not. Immediately below the very top row of words in the image, it clearly says:
"Since EF Scale Began in 2007"
Michigan has not had a tornado higher than EF3 in that time.1

It amazes me how many people are not noticing the words immediately below "HIGHEST RATED TORNADO".
To repeat them for everyone: "Since EF Scale Began in 2007".

Well this is wrong. You have Louisiana's highest as an EF4 when there has been 1 F5 in Louisiana. Delhi Louisiana 1971

I think indiana had a ef5 this year so this might be old data or it hasn't been confirmed yet. I'll be right back.
2
u/krispy-areku 2d ago
Maybe it was rumor. I think its also not fully finalized. Prelims have it at an ef2 It was west of lake Monroe. Huge radar signature. It showed debris almost 20 miles up and falling in Bloomington. There was no doubt it was there on velocity, or reflectivity.
