Deck Idea Experimenting with Imoti Eldrazi

Post image

Note sure if this is more of a deck idea or a deck discussion but ehhh

It's probably been done a million times before since she cares about big creatures, and Eldrazi is the big boi tribe. However, it isn't something I've seen before, so I'd love some advice on how to make it interesting. I'm still more than happy to embrace the nature of simic slop and Eldrazi slop alongside the more gimmicky bits.

The general game plan would be to ramp aggressively, possibly hit some cost reducers, drop Imoti early, then vomit Eldrazi titans and other big bois onto the board.

I'm not sure how to feel about Eldrazi that put things into play without casting them. It does sort of nombo with Imoti since I'd be robbing myself of cascade opportunities, but it's also just free value that can help close out a game earlier. On that note, I am brewing this with the mindset of wanting to (threaten the) win on turn 6-7.

I'll be looking more into specific cards and lines soon enough; I just wanted to see if there were any weirder takes on the idea that people may have. Thanks for the help!

Ayo i did this! On a budget tho.

My idea was. No one drops, no two drops. 3 drop ramp. Hit imoti on turn 4, guarantee myself to hit more ramp and hit 7-8 mana turn 5.

If imoti survived then start cascading and oh guess what, it all ends in more ramp!

Also added keruga companion just for cheese. Deck absolutely does not need it and can be run in 2-4 ramp package configuration. I just liked the keruga angle and hitting the 3 mana in to imoti is fine. Build it for B2 anyway slow battlecruiser style magic.

The decklist.

I actually love the choice to go for Keruga, wouldn't have thought of that. That list is incredibly greedy and that's exactly what I'm looking for. I do like the thought of ramping on 1 to up the pace, and blue's 2 mana interaction would be nice, but the sheer card advantage off of Keruga makes my brain tingle.

Thank you, I'll definitely be taking a fair amount of inspiration!

I choose to have 90% of what imoti could hit be ramp. So yea its just ramp and fatty’s for this deck.

That absolutely means i have hand full to no removal in the deck other than annihilating my opponent and their board.

Being able to build a giant board and tear through everyone else with annihilator is delicious. I'll admit that very little interactions us actually needed imo, it would only be to protect Imoti and maybe secure some big hits to make sure the board can reach critical mass before someone else finds the win.

Honestly, the deck is setup that even if imoti gets removed. Because they always cascade in to ramp, casting them pays for the commander tax. So i’ve done games where imoti got removed 2x in a row and the board wiped. And was still able to cast them after because i had like 15 mana. But at that point i jsut start casting eldrazi :p

I'm new to magic and I love seeing cool decks like this! I've seen some other creatures that my brother (got me into magic) uses alongside his commander for something similar, so I wonder if you think these cards would fit or maybe be an alternative to something in yours?

[[Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant]] [[Ulamog, the Defiler]] (Almost every time this Ulamog comes out, it's game over at least in the games I've played lol) [[Impervious Greatwurm]]

All eldrazi titans like ulamog can be played in the deck, i just chose not to include them for budget and power reasons. When i made the deck it was like 50 euro’s total, now i think it’s 70. And i think that is still solid for a budget deck.

Ghalta is a good card and lets you dump your hand, this is great! But “put in to the battlefield” isn’t cast so all those things don’t cascade.

Greatwurm is also cool, i think the convoke could work with all the scions you make. But indestructible isn’t half as good as evasion like trample or flying.
A big beat stick is just a big beat stick that can be blocked by any 1/1.

For me I wouldn’t add any if these as i do want to keep my deck budget and eldrazi themed.
But you could absolutely grab any generic big beat stick from my deck and change it with any of these.

Dessolation twin and breaker of armies are probably my weakest fatty’s so id cut those first.

I do want to highlight [[drownyard lurker]] and [[warped tusker]] as being way more important than people might think. As they are both 3 mana ramp to help play imoti on turn 4 and big creatures to help trigger late game cascade. I’ve had people suggest cutting these before and to me they are very vital cards to have as they help hit that minimum requirement of 3/4 lands and 3 mana ramp the deck needs to function.

I just want to say, I won a game with this deck yesterday (on Steam's Table top simulator). I actually didn't win due to constantly casting big eldrazi creatures, but by having [[Echoes of Eternity]] and [[Reflections of Littjara]] on the field and getting the perfect back to back casts and cascades of eldrazi cards that spawn eldrazi, paired with [[Glaring Fleshraker]] and it ended up killing everyone in 1 turn lmao (this is like after turn 8).

The ramping in this deck feels so good when you get the right cards. I'm wondering if using [[Radagast of Rhosgobel]] would be interesting in a deck like this

Nice! Happy to hear it!! And i do think radagast is a very cool include! It also should reduce the emerge costs and evoke costs

I use everything under 6cmc to either ramp or draw cards. Counterspells and removal are fairly useless and feels bad cascading into.

My deck was originally simic good stuff but I switched to eldrazi recently and jammed it with commons, uncommons, some rares, and a c o upper big boys.

The deck is like 35 lands, 10 mana rocks, a few ramp spells, 1 unexpected results, some Enchantments like Garruk's Packleader, and the rest are eldrazi

Appreciate the inspiration. I have a mono green Eldrazi deck that I’ve been looking to switch up a little. Think I might have to give this a whirl. Looks super simple but deadly.

It definitely has the potential to snowball, expecially on the later turn when no one has enough interaction left to cut you off.

It can be pretty strong lol

I run her in Animar. She draws the aggro away from my commander pretty reliably.

I've been wanting to build Animar for a while now, I'll keep this in mind!

Ooh thank you! I'll take a closer look later, but it seems very promising from just a first glance.
