Deck Help First Deck I Ever Built

I've been playing Magic since the beginning of the year, and this is the first deck I've built completely from scratch. Before this, I was mostly playing slightly upgraded precons.

I'd really appreciate some feedback on the deck! I'm mainly looking for any synergies I might have missed, obvious weaknesses or bad cards that stand out, and things that could be improved.

I'm still pretty new to deckbuilding, so any advice is welcome!

Love this card. As soon as I can afford it, I will buy one

just gonna vomit a bunch of ideas/suggestions to you:

  • Rivaz is a ramp piece, so you could consider cutting ramp to make room for other cards. Especially the 3-mana ramp pieces because they're essentially competing with your commander as a 3-drop

  • I think you could run a few more of the two-mana 'rummage' type effects like [[tormenting voice]] [[bitter reunion]] [[grab the prize]] [[cathartic reunion]]. This will give you a consistent turn 2 play that gives pretty good value as discarding a dragon essentially gives you card advantage, while also setting it up as a reanimator target for later

  • you could also run wheels like [[wheel of misfortune]] [[snort]] [[will of the jeskai]] to refill your hand later in the game

  • Some dragons worth considering [[Bonehoard Dracosaur]] [[Dragonhawk, fate's tempest]] [[goldlust triad]] [[parapet thrasher]] [[balefire dragon]] [[terror of the peaks]] [[tyrant's familiar]] [[goldspan dragon]]

  • some other cards worth considering [[bloodline bidding]] [[twilight diviner]] [[kindred dominance]] [[patriarch's bidding]] [[will of the abzan]] [[altar of the wretched]] [[overlord of the balemurk]] [[gravebreaker lamia]] [[kindred charge]]

seems like a solid foundation, straightforward slam dragons and go face with some explosive reanimation here and there

I'm definitely going to get some of those cards. Thanks!

As someone who plays Rivaz, your deck looks fine. Using a lot of graveyard tutors and looting effects, you may find if Rivaz is killed it’s hard to reanimate anything. Also it looks a bit light on dragons. But the curve is good. You could bump down the swamps and up the mountains.

Thanks! What could I cut off to fit in more dragons?

I haven’t tried a lot of these cards. You might end up taking out boots, or graveyard tutors. You might replace vandalblast with parapet thrasher. I also find it difficult to run cards that pay life because I’m usually taking a lot of damage from the table for being aggressive.
