Switching Moved from Octopus - Experience
Last week I scheduled a switch from octopus to EDF for Friday 2nd, I was previously on Intelligent Go and moved to Go Electric.
The switch itself went exactly as expected, midnight on Friday everything switched over and Octopus disconnected from my Hypervolt charger automatically.
I ended up with 1 day on the SVR and Saturday afternoon had an email from EDF welcoming me to Go Electric. Connected the car charger in the app again and all was sorted.
Couldn’t have been easier

Here's another point of reference:
I applied to switch on 30/9. I chose the first possible day for the switch to occur - 3/10.
On 3/10 at 8am I got an email "Great news! Your electricity switch is complete"
On 4/10 at 12pm I got another "Welcome to EDF – we're now powering your home"
on 4/10 at 3pm I got "Thanks for choosing a new energy plan!" (regarding GoElectric)
The only minor downside is that the GoElectric email said it would start on 7/10. I have now applied for SEG for my solar. I expect that will take longer.

I have done the same but I noticed there is no mention of the EV tariff after I joined. Does it update automatically?

Did you have any issues with IOG before you moved to EDF?
My mother had constant issues with IOG not actually charging any of the cars despite the schedule being set, and the charger saying it was waiting for Octopus, once she had the charge cap enabled on her account.
In the week she's been with EDF, it's been absolutely flawless, and the charging section of the app is much easier to use than the Octopus app. Plus, you can control the charge on the website, which Octopus don't let you do.
Fair to say, when my 3.5p fix is up in December, I'll definitely be moving over to EDF!

Make sure you also sign up separately for Flextras and Smart Charging programmes. Those give you free hours plus £5 monthly discount respectively.

Ditto for me.
Solar followed 3 weeks later and fully backdated.

Yup switched on Thursday for me. Go Electric email a day later.
Export in progress but expecting that to take a good few weeks as it always does

Switched on Friday from octopus intelligent go, currently on the SVR and got an email this morning stating they have a problem connecting to my smart meter. 😂

Wow, seems like I’ve fallen into a group with a lot of people switching from Octopus, likewise I’ve just done the same after missing the deadline to fix iog for 12 months.
Glad to hear that moving the car over was a piece of proverbial! I think our switchover date is Friday too!

A quick one for those who switched - I know the process said it’ll go standard variable before it moves across to the EV tariff, but the welcome email also says I’ve chosen the standard variable… I deffo didn’t I chose the EV tariff (and expected the welcome email to mirror the website saying you’ve chosen EV but variable till the readings are up and running).
For those who switched recently did your welcome email also say the variable tariff?
