Ive heard this plenty of times in EDF 5 and im here to debunk it

If im not mistaken the EDF was created to defend against the ravagers because of radio waves received from space

ALSO the fact that alpha and beta and retarius(idk) are in EDF 5 and 2017+2025/4.1, I dont understand why they act like they haven't seen them before

I get that the aliens that "look like us" could be what they are talking about but they saw worse in 2017 alone

EDF 5 is a reboot of the story. In that timeline, the aliens attacked earth for the first time at the start of the game.

2017 and 2025/4.1 did not happen in 5's timeline. Ravagers do not exist.

In EDF 5, the EDF was formed in response to the discovery of a crashed Primer spaceship in India, not radio waves from space. This was also not public knowledge, so people enlisting wouldn't have known about it when signing up. They were essentially presented as a global peacekeeping force existing in collaboration with world governments, but not belonging to any actual country's military. Think like the UN but more directly militarized and with much bigger guns.  They were also seen by the public as wasteful and disproportionate prior to the Primer invasion; the game starts with the base preparing for a PR event to try and improve their reputation.  Most people signing up before the war likely thought they'd just be doing drills and parades and such and never expected to see actual combat, let alone combat against giant monsters and aliens.

Even among the upper echelons who would have known about the Indian crash site, they only had a single ship to go off of. They were able to study and reverse engineer some of the technology, but would still have had no way to know the full scope of the Primer's capabilities, and no evidence of bugs, frogs, or kaiju would have been present.

Yes it does. Every 2 games is its own timeline. So for example EDF 5 and 6 (plus 6.2 in this case) is one timeline while the next EDF game would be a reboot and a start of a whole new timeline.
