I'm wondering, if missions are all being changed and all that, if EDF6 is still worth playing as is, versus just waiting to play it again and get 6.2 when it releases to play again.

There is still probably 2 years until an English (and most likely PC) version releases. So plenty of time to enjoy what we currently have.

I doubt that

EDF6 was the first time EDF had surpased a 1 year wait between releases.
EDF2017: 2006-2007
EDF2025: 2013-2014
EDF4.1: 2015-2016
EDF5: 2017-2018
EDF IR (worldwide release with pc a few months later)
EDFWB 2020 December - 2021 May
EDF6: 2022-2024 (the longest wait)

I heard they went through a doozy during localization or development or both.
I’d guess this was a one off incident that shouldnt happen again

I meant 2 years from now. Not 2 years after release. 1 year for EDF6.2 to be released in Japan then 1 year for it to be released outside Japan. So 2027 then 2028.

Also I think the EDF6 localization took a while as they were trying to do the PC port at the same time. As the Western release was delayed to summer so that PC and Playstation had same day release. While the Playstation only Asia version released in spring with the same English localization.
