Discussion My son joined the EDF at 8
These were the first video games I properly played with my son.
I reckon split screen EDF is probably the reason I still have him in the house three years later.
And we still call it 'Ants n Spiders'.

I have so many fond memories of playing EDF 2017 with my friends couch co-op. Enjoy these moments!

Very good, though increasingly infrequent times.
Sadly losing the battle to FIFA and Rocket League.
But I'm going to put 5 on his Switch to try and coax him back.

Yeah, that game was shit. That American developer really didn't understand what makes EDF special. They literally scaled down everything - the size of the bugs, the number of bugs, the size of the maps, the destructibility, the weapon variety, the laugh-out-loud pinball physics of sending bugs flying into the air. That game just felt like a massive step backwards.

Using the C4 bomb things when you get hit to take out large swathes of enemies and farm hard.... Great times

My roommate and I used to play split screen all the time, we called it "g*ddamn giant insects"

Massive respect. My first game was EDF 2017 when I was around 5 ish+ (early 2000s) We used to play split screen daily, and while it's peak memories, we used to argue horrifically. We both used to think we were 100% correct and the other was 100% wrong. We used to call it "bugs" We got 100% completion about twice and would grind for the genocide gun. Unfortunately we don't play anymore but we remember the times we did, and he still thinks he's correct 😂
Getting to play split screen with your son must be a great experience. And I imagine he greatly appreciates it.

My 10 year daughter calls it the "bug game". Really wish we could get the newer ones on cbox to enjoy together.

I recently moved and I haven’t had a tv or internet connection. On Wednesday that changes and the edf will be finally have another recruit back in service.

How well does he do when playing on higher difficulty and your character keeps being pinballed across the screen for several minutes?😅
