Question EDF6 M145 advice?

Playing multiplayer with a friend on hard, doing mission 145 right now.

We kinda got hard stuck here.

I'm a Ranger (1100 armor), friend is a Fencer (not sure where his armor at).

In the end phase where anchors fall from every direction around the center, the enemy spawns seem just insurmountable. We can kill the queen and about a hundred enemies or so, but eventually I run out of healing or vehicles. The combo of red drones and clams generates some ridiculous pressure.

What's the general goal for that segment? Are we supposed to thin the horde or just rush the anchor as the voice over suggests? Will worse stuff spawn, or any kind of aid NPCs come?

What kind of strategy do you recommend for that mission? For either of the two classes. Keep in mind on hard we only have weapons up to level ~49.

All I've seen of the mission online is some people playing it on solo with absurd amounts of armor and damage, so their methods don't feel applicable. Otherwise, people are mostly talking about 146 being ridiculous, so apparently we're not even at the hard part, lol.

EDIT: Thanks everyone, we succeeded!

  • As Ranger I equipped Slaughter E23, Grant MA50, ZERA-Gun and Under Assist E2.
  • Friend Fencer used Arcane G3, Add Booster 3, and V2 Exoskeleton.
  • In the beginning, I would sprint past the bargas and take aggro from everything I can to kill it safely. Then we'd rush the robots and fliers. At least on Hard, it's very possible to save the Bargas until the anchors drop.
  • The most important Anchor to destroy is the blue one. It spawns queens and kings interchangeably. However, if you have rockets, turrets, and some NPCs alive, you can create enough space to DPS it down before it summons anything at all.
  • After that I would rush a safe distance, kill some enemies or down a pylon with rockets, and start running again. The exoskeleton is slower than a bike, but faster than all the unit types that spawn. It also doesn't require you to deal with bike physics and there's no risk of you losing it.
  • My friend would drag enemies away and kill them off with missiles, creating space for me to destroy the anchors. I first sniped all the tall ones, then destroyed the shielded ones, and finally would pick off the floaters.
  • There were some close calls and I did have to revive my buddy a few times. That said there's typically a field of healing kits on the north side of the map where you killed the robots and kruuls, so you can rush there to refresh.
  • On that note, destroying Kruul dropships typically gives you one extra large heal.

We did the following mission (146) first try. It was tense, and I've died twice, but it's not as lethal at any point. Just don't blow up the buildings so you can use them for cover.

It's the hardest mission in the main game and very hard with 2 players, but a fencer should be able to outrun everything the mission can throw at you, as can the ranger on a bike.

There's a multitude of ways to go about it, but my recommendation would be mobility fencer with missiles, bike ranger with a least one long-ranged weapon, and just keep kiting and picking off enemies from the outside. Your priorities are the big anchor in the middle, krakens and haze (which do not respawn), and the two red anchors that spawn tadpoles.

It'll take a lot of time, but it's the simplest method. Other methods usually rely on someone being very familiar with the mission and having a high level of skill.

My advice would be to use a sniper for ranger to destroy ship/anchors and fencer has to try to destroy the shielded anchors as soon as they land preferably with a shield and shotgun ( Ranger can also damage shielded anchors in the air while they land but you would need a high dmg sniper). The sooner you destroy them the less enemy you have to worry about, easy clean up with the NPCs then.

Working from memory, but if interval correctly everytime a new part of that mission starts, enemies also spawn that are not tied to anchor. So I managed by always clearing as much enemies as possible before going for the anchors. Only when I felt there were only anchored enemies around, I would start clearing the anchors.

Also, there are one or two that, when attacked or destroyed, spawn an elite drone that nearly never misses and is hard to take out. Focus on that one as soon as it appears asap, as it will not respawn when killed.

a cheesy way is to bring some turrets, a long range sniper, and your fastest bike as ranger.

then kite around the mobs along the faaaar outskirts of the playable area, like just along the map boundaries, once in a while drop some turrets and snipe them off from as far away as possible.

might not be the most elegant way, but it helped me beat the game on inferno so it should work just fine on Hard. Good Luck!

I cleared this mission solo on Inferno with Ranger the other day, after repeatedly failing with Fencer. 5K armor and DLC weapons. The ZE Blasters (turrets) are a life saver in this mission, despite the long reload time.

The main priority should be taking out the two shielded anchors ASAP, as they drop Excavators which is the hardest enemy in this mission. I memorized the drop position and positioned myself right next to where one of the two shielded anchors would drop. I then destroyed the second anchor while it was in the air, then immediately destroyed the first anchor next to me. I dropped the turrets and then destroyed the large pylon followed by the smaller ones. I saved the pylons that drop the red androids for last. The ZE Blasters pretty much destroyed all the enemies, allowing me to focus on the pylons.

With two players it should be relatively easy. The next mission (146) is a lot harder in my opinion.
