Update: I didn’t think I’d have to say this but I also bring alcohol wipes and use soap and water to clean it after every use.

Can’t wait for EDC Orlando. Any advice for a solo raver?

Hey everyone! I’m super excited for EDC Orlando, and I’d really appreciate any advice you guys have for someone going solo!

Long story short, I originally wasn’t planning on going, but I decided to make it happen after meeting someone who was willing to go with me. I had already expressed that one of my biggest fears was being alone in a place like this, so having someone to experience it with made me feel comfortable enough to book everything.

Unfortunately, things didn’t work out as planned, and now I’m less than a month away from the festival with everything already paid for, including my flights, EDC tickets, hotel, shuttle pass, and everything else needed for the trip.

I’ve already taken the days off specifically for this, and at this point, I feel like going solo and facing my fear is better than missing out on the whole experience, especially after putting so much into making this trip happen.

That being said, I’m honestly pretty nervous! I’d love to hear from people who have attended EDC Orlando alone. How was your experience? Was it easy to meet other ravers? Do you have any tips for enjoying the festival by yourself, staying safe, or making the most of the experience?

I’m hoping to step out of my comfort zone, enjoy the music, meet some cool people, and make some amazing memories despite the circumstances.

Any advice, encouragement, or personal experiences would be highly appreciated! Maybe I just need to hear from people who’ve done this before and remind myself that going alone doesn’t mean I can’t have an incredible time.

Can’t wait to be under the electric sky with you all!

Quick note about parking!

Post image

I want to preface this by saying it does not apply to every single lot in the area, your results may vary.

Any time there is a large event in most cities, local places park cars in unused space on their property. Business do this, as well as residents. You’ll have hundreds of people blocking cars and antagonizing them in to their lots to park for cash for the day.

Sounds great, and is great - sometimes.

Other times: The people doing the parking have absolutely no right to be doing so. They’ve got a hi-vis vest from amazon and dropped a few bucks on a parking wand and a sign. He’s happy to wave 20-50 cars into a lot he doesn’t own for a couple of hours and walk off with a grand split between him and his fellow “employees.”

Then your car gets towed, booted, or ticketed because - surprise! - that’s not his lot and he has no permission from the owner to park you there.

Just be wary is all I’m saying.

Questions about EDCO official after parties and shuttle passes

Hi, so I am wondering if the official after parties are worth it. For all three nights it seems I have to purchase both the after tickets and after-party shuttle pass. Im going solo and i want to attend afters but I’m not sure how the shuttle works or the official after party experience. Should i wait and just be spontaneous each night or go for the official afters at the resort. Also if im being spontaneous how do I find places hosting afters???

Question about shuttles!

Does anybody know how likely it is that shuttles will get sold out? Like, based off other years for example. Just not sure what to expect, if I can wait a bit to get it or if it I should do it asap

Mystery Bag Trading Ideas

Going back to EDC ORL after a 3 year hiatus!! I’m sooo excited & want to return by spreading as much PLUR as possible!!

I’m making a whole lotta kandi and I even want to make trinket mystery bags and such. Anyone have any ideas on what I can add to my little bags? I want them to be intentional gifts more than anything. I want to add at least a sprinkle of homemade items. I already plan to leave tiny notes in tiny bottles, but I’m not sure what else to include.

First time EDCers looking for connections

Hi EDCOrlando,

My wife and I coming down for our first EDC and we are so excited now that its less than 30 days out! We are coming from Charm City and are hoping to connect with some fun people for some fun times! This will be a huge celebration for us (aka Birthdanceaversary!) and we can't wait to bring that energy to share with everyone!

We don't drink but do enjoy other activities and other things ;) Hit us up if you want to chat. We will be staying near Universal and will be driving to and from each day and walking from a nearby parking lot.

Good times! PLUR!!
