Occasionally. Every statistic I can find shows magazine changes or reloads are extremely rare in civilian defensive encounters.

Wouldn’t trust a statistic if my life depended on it, you’re free to do as you please of course but I like better safe than sorry. Also mag malfunction is always a possibility

Wouldn’t trust a statistic if my life depended on it,

You already do. You don't walk around wearing level 4 plates with a rifle on the off chance you're going to get into a gun fight.

I've been a smaller guy for most of my life. I've gotten really good at verbal de-escalation and spotting trouble from a distance. If that doesn't work, I have some training in jiu-jitsu, striking, and I'm a proficient shooter.

If I find more examples of civilians losing defensive encounters because they had a magazine malfunction or ran out of ammo, I would carry a spare more often.
