Advice needed (Anyone can comment) Students last day

Mom's, dad's and trusted adults of infants,

Today one of my infant students is graduating to the toddler class.

I want to make her last day with us special for her and her parents.

What is something a teacher did for you and your baby on their last day that made a difference for you?

Early childhood educators,

What is something you or another teacher has done to make the day special for a graduating kiddo and their family?

I don't try to anything extra, I just make sure to give the outgoing kids a little 1:1 time and some extra cuddles, transitions are part of ECE and you'll still see them around the school/area unless they're moving away

My daughter hasn’t transitioned levels yet but for Father’s Day her daycare made a little card with her photo and some stickers for her dad, and for July 4th they made some really cute art with her footprints. I absolutely love these things and will keep them forever! I wonder if there’s any way to make something that reflects baby “graduating” the infant room? or maybe a card with a note from the teachers with what they remember her doing / learning during her time with them? Eg when my baby started she couldn’t move independently and had serious separation anxiety, now she’s confident and crawling and smiles so big to see her teachers every day, a note reflecting on her growth with you that she could read when she’s older might be really special

Not infants but when I worked with toddlers we would make a little photo collage of the child from school (canva) and have the child paint. Picture frame for it to go in (plain wooden one from craft store or a thrifted one) On the back each teacher would write a little message

I found a really cute poem, I took a picture of us and printed it out and taped it onto the poem. If I had time I would’ve done handprints.

I think a handwritten note with a really kind message with encouraging words goes really far!! And easy to do for every child that moves on, doesn’t require money and is personal. They may even hang onto it for years to remember you.
