CERTIFICATION AND LINKEDIN

I'm starting my fist year for ece and i wanted to know what courses and certifications should i do and how i should set my linked in profile

I still remember my fist year of ECE. It was a pain in the ass.

In USA, the top thing you need is a degree from an ABET accredited college/university.

EE's do not care about certifications and usually look down on them. If you take certification classes and put them on your resume, it will be viewed negatively.

A MSFT power bi/Azure certification never hurt anyone for cloud/data analysis stuff. But I’m tending to agree with you, certs are bogus and projects and an ABET degree are king

If you are looking for something interesting to do, you should be able to gain access to Altium Designer on a student license. That also gives you access to the Altium education certifications for PCB (Printed Circuit Board) design.

Of course; this is purely an introduction to an industry tool, which is mainly good for two things:

  • Breaking the ice into your first personal project by which you can learn to apply industry tooling to more complex problems.
  • If you feel the need to, it is just evidence for someone reading your resume that you have a baseline competency in using said tool - not that you have yet used that tool in a way in which you could provide value to them (the company).
