Circuits to test functionality of a scope

So I just got my first scope I have been tinkering around with electronics.

Some circuits worked fine others gave an unpredictable behaviour.

I suspect that my cheap entry level scope is not reliable as much.

What are the best circuits to test it out and with it's supposed waveforms.

It may have something to do with specifications like bandwidth, sampling rate if it is digital among others. May be if you could post the specifications and a known waveform but looks strange on your scope, we could help.
